Map cap experiment
I know I have seen more than 60 enemies from one server on my home bl before so I am not sure your numbers could be accurate. I think its more of a total numbers from all 3 servers combined cap. Why you ask well because on numerous occasions I have had the outnumbered buff and a queue on that boarderland at the same time. Guildies trying to get into the bl and there being a queue for them while we are somehow outnumbered.
Yes, which according to Anet it should be a bug. That they didn’t know what could make that happen, but yeah they also said they wont reveal whats the actual map cap on BLs/EBG
I’m pretty sure no one counts the numbers in those blobs. Plus the roamers running around.
There’s always been something off about the map caps. I’ve had times where I was locked in a queue and guild mates that queued hours after me got in before me.
I’ve seen Guild mates locked at number 1 in queue for hours unable to enter. I’ve occasionally seen one of these “Mega Blobs” on a BL where the map count surely doesn’t support it. Maybe it was just the maximum level of coordination in action?
While I can understand Anet’s reasoning for hiding the mechanics behind it all, it makes finding bugs purely speculative. Not long ago Anet “fixed several bugs and exploits with map queues” Which? I guess that means there were some, maybe there still are. Danged if I know.

I always do /supplyinfo in enemy maps. The highest number I’ve ever gotten was 79 people. I’m guessing the max is 80 on enemy maps.
Home BL is harder to tell, I’ve never seen it empty on my server or had everyone on me but a commander on BP has gotten up to 90 people in a /supplyinfo check in home map.
As for Eternal, I’m guessing the number is around 80-90.

good to know, i guess my server has lots of roamers around cuz when i move a 50-55 man it into an outmanned bl it gets queued

Zara may be talking about me, my record in eternal I believe is 87 with supplyinfo and 4 people not stacked while running [PINK] guild, and on another night for [PINK] on an enemy BL we had 85 on the stack, we have a video of that night as well as a picture of the stack, I had a few scouts as well. Also there are always afk people throughout the map. I am assuming home/enemy BL are the same number otherwise it would be rather unfair to have more attackers or more defenders from each side. With that…
I assume each BL has a cap of 90 or higher
Eternal has a cap of over 90, assuming 100
I can also put up ss’s later tonight as well

lowering map cap per server per map will make the map queues for the stacked servers, and will force people to spread to more servers in order to be able to play WvW.
sometimes you have to give a kick in the butt to get people moving.

Hear hear! Been beating on that dead horse for quite some time myself and anything that makes lag better is a good thing imo. Now that we have EotM it should be easier to do without starting a Tier 1 riot.
As to WvW map caps it’s been long assumed the Borderlands where in the range of 70 to 80 while EB is closer to 100 cap per side from previous commander testing using /supply info. ANET has also admitting to changing those caps in the past, they’ve been both higher and lower early on. I would propose they change them to closer 50 to 60 for the Borderlands and 70 to 80 for EB. I understand people want to enjoy massive battles from time to time but isn’t 50×50×50 really big enough?
