You might want to elaborate a bit more if you want anyone to take you seriously…WvW has seen a good amount in “twelve” months. You act as all we got was a mastery when we got a whole list of traits, a new character progression and new content (the middle of the BL’s coming soon) Patience you don’t have, other wise you wouldn’t make another “QQ anet you suck” thread. The current WvW team seems to be quite focused on getting us new content

I actually like the current maps and wouldn’t mind continuing to play on them. But I think what would could make them truly stand out and be interesting is to skin those borderland maps with terrain matching your server’s home (since most of the servers are named after actual locations in the game’s lore).
For example: Maguuma’s borderlands would be blanketed with thick jungles and fetid swamps, the Northern Shiverpeaks borderlands painted with harsh, icy bitterness, Gate of Madness a fiery wasteland, etc etc. All the exact same map, but re-skinned with graphical terrain assets that already exist in the game.
I think even a change as slight as that will freshen things up greatly in WvW and possibly instill more of a sense of server pride.

Your point makes little sense, because Devon has already said a few times they are not even working on maps. Makes me wonder what they are working on then.

I had this idea but was too lazy to post about it. Changing terrain majorly and making new balanced maps can be a ridiculous task but re-texture them into interesting landscapes? I like. I’ve seen games do amazing things with the exact same map. This is however a lot of different maps to do (one for each server) but I think slowly introducing them gives a constant stream of new interesting areas and can be worked on concurrently as things like actual player roles, new siege, etc as it’s not trying to design an entirely new map.

Lvl 1 – 7% chance of not being interrupted while downing an enemy.
Lvl 2 – 13% chance of not being interrupted while downing an enemy.

Y’know what’d be super neat? A completely plain map which guilds can fight in. No Power of the Mists, no Borderlands Bloodlust, no nothing. Just three gates in, and a whole lot of bodies.
Just in regards to the OP..As much as new maps would be awesome(understatment). The biggest problem i have is these “crappy masterys”..
There not “crappy” but pointless to most players who have already invested time into WvW. Its defeating to see a new ability be released knowing that your stats are already tide up in another skill line. im currently on the last bar of guard killer but would swap it for the “new” supply line..and as a roaming ranger the new reinfocement mastery seems well suited for me.
Im hoping Anet will do another stat reset when that update is released..if not its gonna be like 99% of the other wvw ability updates
“Hello WvW player! this update were releasing the new X mastery. we know you have already invested many points into various skills in the past. but im sure you will have a blast watching other use X mastery , it could be a vetren thats saved there points or a fresh player spending it for the 1st time. So please enjoy our new skills with non refundable skill points as im sure you will have as much fun maxing X mastery once you finish maxing your current skill. Or why wait? those 60 points are a waste! just start investing it in X mastery now and soon we will release Y mastery”
