I did notice [dog] tag – valiant effort defending Garry. The coverage is what it is. You did well with what you had.

Yeah, DOG is an SBI guild so my guess is this was an actual screenshot. How they got the time to set up that much siege in NN camp I have no idea… wasn’t there anymore when I was running around an hour or so back though. (Probably because YB is doing regular rinse cycles on most of the maps.)

It probably seemed like a nice idea, until 50 people ran through your camp

It is a real screenshot I assure you. I wasn’t there when they set it up by I happened to go to the North camp and couldn’t believe my eyes.

I approve of that siege! Particularly the golems. You may have forgotten a treb though. Regardless, I applaud your effort and suggest you might possibly be on the wrong server ;0

we lost the trebs that might be in that screen cap to a spawn teleporter(not sure of enemy server), or there’d be more.

i would say good job to YB if it didn’t take them an entire map queue.

Pretty funny how long SBI managed to hold that. It’s the only thing we can really do versus such massive numbers from YB so I’m proud we were able to defend it so long.

Not sure what type of enjoyment a match brings when the numbers are this vastly different in a match up. I know the players don’t have a choice in who they play and SBI has been on the other end but it’s just not fun, even if you’re on the winning side.

True. This week is a farming week for dungeons, boss trains and fractals for YB. It’s a nice vacation from having blobs or an all thief group sitting at our spawns. If anyone on YB wants to map WvW now is the time to do it.

I only think SBI and HoD try for the sake of getting dailies.

I can tell you there are people on SBI trying. We just don’t have the WvW population other servers have.

I still say SBI and HoD should both together go for YB Bay.

Or maybe SBI could come to HoD BL and help them take back their Bay that YB has waypointed.

Lol, I did something like this by myself when we were facing Sea Of Sorrows.

It was late night (like 2am late night) and pretty much no one was in EBG on our server besides myself. We owned nothing so I decided to start from scratch. Capped a camp, built some siege, stuck near it and stayed with it until it was fully upgraded. Once it was 4/4 on upgrades I shouted in /map that I would start upgrading Mendon’s next. I defended Speldan from attackers at least every 2 – 5 minutes until it was fully upgraded. I even chased away a group of 5 at one point. Yes, I had all the NPC’s and siege but doing this solo when NPC’s are easy to kite can be rough so I felt pretty accomplished :P.

Eventually, people came to help me and we wound up holding Speldan and Mendon’s for a solid 4 hours. SOS kept getting bigger and bigger groups but we stayed the same size of roughly 5 – 8 people. We got Mendon’s heavily sieged but they eventually overwhelmed us at Speldan by kiting the champion Arborial Spirit to the NPC’s ): < Then they decided to camp it with siege like I had done…

We moved back to Mendon’s and killed (I counted every one of them) 12 separate trebuchet’s over the span of about 30 minutes. They kept trying to build them but we kept pushing them away or countering them with our own siege.

Finally, they brought in a frigging golem, which we also killed, then soon after they just plain blobbed us and swallowed the tower.

It was a good battle though and was incredibly fun. I don’t mind being outnumbered when things like this happen. It when the other servers put absolutely 0 effort in to taking things and you can only hold a camp or tower for 10 minutes tops before they blob it. Everything gets flipped eventually, as long as there’s a fight involved in defending it I’m okay with losing, and that fight of 5 – 8 of us versus 15 and eventually about 30 lasted for hours so I had plenty of fun.

tldr; when you’re heavily outnumbered and versus a server three times your size, just siege the hell out of a supply camp and farm roamers :P. It’s cheesy but it’s not like you’re going to have towers to defend so what else can you be expected to do.

Thanks guys. Manning the siege helped me get my dailies. xD Not sure if it was the same pack of siege yesterday, but there were a lot of Ballistas.

What would be even funnier is if we had like 10 engineers place traited turrets (I once got daily defender from doing that. ) at the camp too and sleep in spawn. Sadly they expire in a few min so there would be need for rotation. And you’d need to have like 10 minionmancers and a guardian giving retaliation. Of course that runs under the assumption there’s more than 10 people in SBIBL, and as we know that’s merely a dream.
