So… with the new masteries anet basically gives away commander tags for PvE people for free (well… 1 mastery point and a tiny amount of exp) while WvW people still have to pay 300g. And the only difference is that we can change the colour? Yay~ Doesn’t seem fair to. Especially not if you consider that commander tags in WvW are very important, not only if you want to start commanding (and really, who wants to pay 300g to give commanding a try and realize that it’s not for him?) but also very useful to show positions on those huge maps.

I am not sure where you are going with this.

The commander tag has the ability to create squads, check supply and change colors so that they can be organize.

Mentor tag is a silly apple over your head and a fancy chat tag.

That silly apple can be used if you want to try commanding yes, because who want to spend 300g if they dont like it? Almost free seems fair for having an apple on your head that make you look like a complete fool.

… so what is the problem?

The problem is, like all masteries the mentor tag doesn’t work in WvW.

I am both commander and mentor and would like to use the mentor chat title while using a commander tag because players won’t listen to you if you want to help them but don’t have anything special (like a chat title).

Everything else is fine by me.

I don’t personally see this one as a problem though… (Auto loot, sure…. But not the mentor one)

This is not a problem this is a good thing looking at the behaviour of rather a lot of mentors in PvE.
