Since I really haven’t been able to play since last Thursday due to the skill lag, I’ve been reading a lot of threads concerning it. I have noticed a pattern among some users such as myself. What they all have in common is no other programs are effected, speed tests of all sorts come back fine, if they have someone else who plays on the same network, they are not affected. The lag shows up on the windows resource monitor at about 250-300 constant latency. Once it starts, its constant 24/7 latency every day.
The only logical explanation I can come up with is that certain MAC addresses are being throttled… for whatever reason. Prove me wrong.
wvw is unplayable for me since the new patch. massive lag that i never experienced before and there’s a ~10 second delay from when i press my keys till skills activate. i did experience some mild skill lag previously in really big fights (we’re talking 60 vs 60) but now even in small group fights i can’t use any skills. also disconnecting during matches (something i never experienced in the past).
same here. when i started playing it was bad, then i got quite good and i even could participate in these large-scale fights without major problems. lags from time to time but that had to do with the bandwidth usage in our neighborhood. since the last patch my FPS drops down to 3-5 if a couple people appear on the screen. not much of a skill lag . my skills trigger but mostly i can’t see them because they seem to happen between two frames. not that cool after i was glad wvw worked fine after some time.
Skill lag has gotten worse over the past 2 weeks for me. I’m even getting more events where none of my skills work, yet am still able to chat, run around and WP. This is in 10v10 fights.
I’d say it’s lagging the second I get into any fight, 1v1 or in a zerg.
This is driving me kittening bananas. I’m trying to lead and call for hammer stuns on me and I can’t even do it my god kitten self… ( -_-)
tier 2 is unplayable with ~80-100 people in one area. garbage. this is unacceptable after a year and a half.
unless something is done quickly, i honestly see a lot of people leaving this mess for ESO. WvW is dead and EOTM was an epic fail, we all know that. but at the very least people want optimized gameplay.
Thought I’d put a comment in myself about the skill lag. Now let me start off by saying that I haven’t experienced it myself but.. That’s because I haven’t played wvw yet… For that very reason.
I don’t know what the connection’s like for other people here in the UK but my bf and I haven’t even attempted wvw because of the lag.. I’d really like to because I’ve never played that sort of style, usually just pve sort of thing, and now I’m just even more disappointed reading this thread.. Looks like I won’t be playing wvw anytime soon
I’m experiencing the same issue also in Lion’s Arch events. I just don’t go there anymore.
In WvW I’m looking for a deserted border, constantly swapping maps.
It’s a game breaker.

Unfortunately skill lag is also back for myself, it has gradually been getting worse since the start of the new year and since the introduction to EOTM the skill lag has went through the roof.
What I have found tho is it is far worse in normal WvW than it is in EOTM but thats more than likely because its not normal to get huge 3 way fights in EOTM as most of the time its a karma train.
But it is worse than what it previously has been for me and along with skill lag I am also having a few oddball issue’s. Weapon skill lockouts is one of them and it used to happen very rarely to me that my weapon bar would lockup and nothing would fire, now its happening alot more frequently. I have discovered that one of the weapon skill lockouts can occur if you have picked up someone elses banner and the timer expired when you had it, cycling elite skill normally fixes this.
But I am also seeing when using utility skills that use marks that you click to fire the skill off and it shows the cast animation etc but at the end nothing happens. It isnt lag per say as its happening outside of zerg v zerg combat. At first I thought I had accidentally cancelled it by dodging etc but it has happened a good few times that I was watching out for this and it just doesn’t fire off the skill.
