Players SHOULDN’T have access to supply if they do not own a supply camp. That makes perfect sense. Obviously there is a main way out of your spawn. Then there is a back way DIRECTLY TO A SUPPLY CAMP! So complaining about being funneled, well that is your fault. Also, there is a point where you can be away from your spawn, but invulnerable. You can’t die.

Besides, if you are INVADERS it shouldn’t be easy for you or fair when you are “invading” another server’s borderlands.

Players of Crystal Desert are transfering for our server, taking our slots on WvWvW and defending against Blackgate.
When your opponents are THAT pathetic. You just lose the will to play.
When this transfer bullkitten stop maybe we will be back in action.

PS: for who didn’t get what’s happening in the SS. We had more players defending North Gate, place were Blackgate comes from, then actually trying to take the keep.

Spawn camping is a problem. The dominate server can’t understand why the other two servers won’t come out to play. Catapults, trebuchets, arrow carts poise to kill them is not exactly a welcome mat.

The end result is bored players on the dominate server, and players that either transfer off, or refuse to participate and be farmed.

I play on Kaineng and Devona’s Reach….its not even a matter of people organizing. Whenever we do organize a fairly big push to retake things we’re promptly zerged to death. Even if we do manage to hold them off they always take everything back over night. Your approach isn’t working for the least populated servers. People aren’t organizing in WvW here, they are leaving for better matched servers. If we continue to get stomped in every match up the servers will end up being ghost towns.

Sometimes it is impossible to organize a group that is low pop. They are so demoralized because they are getting theirkitten handed to them (Kaineng) that few show up anymore. I’m not on Kaineng but I know I would bekitten if I was stuck in that situation like them.

The Blackgate V Crystal Desert V Gates of Madness matchup is going to be like the other matchups soon. CD has a dedicated night crew that can trump the rest.
BG and GoM do not have strong night WvW populations, both receive “outmanned” buffs for several hours. We werent even ‘demoralized,’ here on Blackgate, just did not have the numbers to defend.

so, I guess things are working as ArenaNet has intended.

Also, if ArenaNet wants to save themselves some headaches, they’ll reset wvwvw a lot earlier than Friday – like today.

It sucks BUT I feel it’s needed. I play on Anvil Rock and we’re losing compared to Darkhaven (yes poster above me, to you guys who are being spawn camped supposedly) and Yak’s Bend BUT it’s been some crazy fun.

I belong to a good guild and we’re able to cap towers and keeps, and supply camps naturally :P. Sure, we suck compared to Yak’s but oh well.

I feel like the 24 hour thing was there to get a rough idea on where all the servers stand. The reason why we can’t go back to that format imo is that it’s not represnative of what a whole week entails. Tues – Thursday last week we were dominating on Anvil, only to get OWNED all weekend. We need a full 7 day cycle to hone the rankings a bit more. Maybe we’ll do better and end up somewhere in the middle by Friday? Who knows.

@Zohar I just call it spawn camping when I log in and there’s a huge Yak Zerg at our spawn point. I could be wrong.

We gain a little ground during the day, then at 2:00 am, the night capping begins. Who wants to go thru that cycle for another 4 days? as they get stronger, SM will not be overrun, all three orbs are out of reach… It’s just broken, and needs a reset

@Zohar Anvil needs to stop attacking Darkhaven and help us push back Yaks. And if we are attacking you, we need to stop as well. I know it’s happened both ways. Now if the aussies on Darkhaven would start to push back at night it would helps Darkhaven as well.

Well, I don’t know what the heck’s gone on since I slept but TC has three camps and one tower. Mag’s slowly gonna get pushed down too, by the looks. Which is a shame because when you consider it, Mag and TC aren’t too far behind from each other (in the grand scheme of things) and seemed like a great match up. The deviation is Dragonbrand, who simply has too much working manpower at any waking hour to really be dealt with for a significant period of time. Partially because this format doesn’t really do much to help equalize pushed back teams against their foes.

So the whole bit about those big leads pretty much deciding long term strength is generally true. At this rate, we won’t have supply. Which means that Mag’s gonna get hit hard by DB, likely to face (if not a difrectly comp

It’s simply population for us, the way they have matched up Northern Shiverpeaks against the two lowest population servers just means they believe they are the worst server out of all of them (the populated ones) that existed on release. I think that’s a pretty big insult…

They have roughly 80% of the people across the 4 zones and 3 servers. I bet we get 3x the badges though.

I went and capped a supply + two sentries to have a mass of bored Emry bay come kill me. There was 3 other people on the map from what I could see (including me=/).

It is REALLY awesome they have a map that shows what and where we are attacking even though we have no real manpower to much of anything. /sarcasm

Yak’s Bend is flat out crushing Darkhaven and Anvil Rock. We (Darkhaven) have been pushing back, regaining our losses, only to wake up in the morning and find everything gone. Yak’s bend apparently doesn’t lack for overnight support. Not whining about it at all, Darkhaven just doesn’t match up well with Yak’s.

As for the people transferring off the server because the battle isn’t going your way, don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

The situation on SoS/IoJ/ET is getting worse and worse. I’ve never seen a map this empty of allies, and so full of enemies. What the heck is ET doing with nobody to attack? It would explain why i just got zerged at our supply camp and stomped by 15+ guys.

its not “matching making” thats the problem.

WvW IS THE PROBLM…

1) Why do the dominating side get orbs? it makes them 15% stronger than us, without it they wiping ourkitten why give them buffs? these orbs should spawn to the OWNED team, if they owned by a certain amount they get one if they completely demolished they get 2.

2) Why isnt it balanced in numbers? 100 players online from one sever then it should be MAX 100 players by others server (+or- 10% for people coming in and out) to keep the battle fair, but when we ALWAYS outnumbered, its completely pointless to WvW. before this week long we use to have to wait 2 hours for a queue, now people so fed up and either quit game all together or WvW out of it, we get instant queues… only to find 20 of us being farmed by 100.

3) Why sooooo much PvE in WvW? who came up with this? PvE events? Jumping puzzle? killing PvE Bosses? serious?

I played on Fort Apenwood Saturday evening and it was fun and pretty well balanced between all three servers. On the FA borderlands we were pretty much trading the northern outside supply depot’s between the servers. At one point enemies even got through both walls of the garrison but we manged to group up and hold it.

After that though it felt like everyone from SoR logged off. We took their keep with them having maybe 10-20 people defending, then their supply camp and the tower by their spawn.

Seemed like it when from a very balanced fight to complete domination in a matter of 30m to an hour.

No worries, after this week you will move up and be put in the same position as SoR and SF. The sad thing is that Arena Net has provided the tools to correct the problems we are seeing. Players from Fort Aspenwood who are facing no opposition when they play should be transferring to one of the other servers to even the sides. Instead what is actually happening is the majority of transfers are from the losing servers to the winning servers. Wait until Fort Aspenwood faces ET, JQ, HOD, or SBI, the same thing will happen to you.

Honestly, I doubt there is anything Arena Net can do to stop this. Players are choosing to move to servers where they will mainly pve keep lords in wvw. And players already on servers with no competition refuse to move because ’it’s not their problem’.

@inbetween Yeah, we actually crushed CD in your borderlands for a long time last night. We pushed to their garrison but the whole build the gate and split the zerg thing killed us. Once it hit about 1 AM though their night crew kicked in and everyone quit.

My main issue is the stupid hackers that keep blowing up our siege equipment. There is a teleporting warrior and thief that target our siege stuff. It’s really hard to siege anything when your stuff gets blown up in under 5 minutes. We ended up having 10-15 people trying(unsuccessfully) to keep the siege equipment up but no amount of AOE and tab spam could stop them.

To say that AN doesnt care is a bit of a stretch as this is only a month in and the work they have put in seems to be pretty solid at fixing things. Of course they care. That’s not helpful, and a little bit childish.

ANet isn’t going to take drastic action quickly. Especially not when there is a possibility that fixing the queue (which they admit is broken) and allowing server ranking to work a little while longer (still very volatile due to server transfers & its a new game) will fix, or at least mitigate, the worst of the problems that currently exist.

Going “chicken little” here isn’t going to help anything. I am just wondering if there are any of the W3 match ups that are playing out as most of us hoped they all would.

From what I can tell right now, it seems each match has 1 dominate server which would seem to indicate a systemic problem instead of a community problem.

That is true, but last time we had this discussion (which we called “night capping” at the time) their response wasn’t exactly… satisfying. The thread was later removed altogether.

Perhaps this time they will take a little more time and review some data before saying anything publicly. It’s only Monday now, I say we all take a deep breath, calm down, and wait to see what they have to say about it before jumping to any judgements.

Speaking from Yak’s Bend, we got slapped around quite a bit during the 1 day match ups so we fell into the lower bracket of servers. Now that battles have moved to 1 week, the server has been reenergized and much more organized with our wuvwuv.

These “problems” were there when the WvWvW was 1 day long, it happened and YET they made it 1 week long without fixing it.

When people came and pointed the problem we got a "Well it’s not our fault if players make “mobs” in one server"
So turn the free transfer offkitten

While i belive it’s true that to a server succeed, it should have players from all around the world.

IT’S very obvious for me that 70~80% of the players are in a time zone. So it’s IMPOSSIBLE to every server get a “night squad”.

I’m not saying to block/cap others timezones, but something need to be done to mitigate the damage done by that.
And even when i, you, everyone said that Arena.net was silence.

So yeah at least in my point of view. Arena.net don’t care about WvWvW, sadly, because it’s what make GW2 different of others games.

Anyway sorry my bad english but i think people will get the idea.

From CD here and I’ve got to say after spending an entire day till 4am fighting I’d say it’s your own fault you guys didn’t defend well enough. As for the tactics at the spawn, you have 3 ways out of every spawn and if you can’t manage to rush one of them then it’s kind of your own fault again. Have your thieves stealth, have your engineers toss elixir B and S together then do supply drops on top of the siege weapons, and have your guardians put up some defense as well with swiftness. We do this all the time to take back heavily camped supply camps. When you work together its amazing what you can accomplish than sitting in spawn complaining about what’s going on.

About 7-8 times yesterday. Happens a lot more often than you think as keeping supplies low is game changing in WvWvW.

Im sorry how many supply camps do you take with 8+ seige devices in one spot? Short of MAYBE pangloss with enough time i would suspect 0.

I might add that you only need however many people on those siege devices while the rest of you could easily go retake anything thats lost to the small force that would make a break for it.

About 7-8 times yesterday. Happens a lot more often than you think as keeping supplies low is game changing in WvWvW.

I just want to understand you rolled up on Supply camps with 8 plus siege items and people backing it up and pushed them out. Im not talking about keeps or towers with 550/1500 supply.

I find that very hard to belive.

From CD here and I’ve got to say after spending an entire day till 4am fighting I’d say it’s your own fault you guys didn’t defend well enough. As for the tactics at the spawn, you have 3 ways out of every spawn and if you can’t manage to rush one of them then it’s kind of your own fault again. Have your thieves stealth, have your engineers toss elixir B and S together then do supply drops on top of the siege weapons, and have your guardians put up some defense as well with swiftness. We do this all the time to take back heavily camped supply camps. When you work together its amazing what you can accomplish than sitting in spawn complaining about what’s going on.

Dude you are noob. Straight to the point.

EVEN if we had enough manpower to take the camp back. The camp would give 100~120. Not even close enough to take a keep with 750+ supplies full of sieges. And to make everything worse we would have our WP pinned down. Our players would take more time to go to the keep than yours players would take going from SM to the keep.

Don’t think because your server has a “night squad”, who do all the job for you, you know anything about tactics. Because you don’t.

We have double the score of both other contesters, and it seems their moral is about to break – resistance is weeker with every day. I woudnt call it “mismatched”, the population is about the same, but the performance clearly not.

I believe by the end of the match both DE and FR will give up – already now seeing their moral broken, which is sad: since camping spawn camps is not really fun.

Yes, because we don’t have a few big night squad guilds it is our fault. As for getting out of spawn, we could but what’s the point? If some of our guys snuck out of base and did take a camp, it would be taken right back and everyone slaughtered. We could spend hours trying to get out of our spawn and retake everything we lost though. Then the next morning the same scenario will play out with a dozen siege weapons pointed at our spawns. So again, what’s the point? On top of that don’t even get me started on the hackers that keep killing our siege weapons.

CD will win the match. Short of a bunch of EU guilds joining blackgate and Gates of Madness, that isn’t going to change. CD will then end up going against higher ranked servers with high night populations.

My issue with this is that it has absolutely zero to do with skill and everything to do with player population. What ArenaNet needs to do is add weighted points based on overall population levels. IE at 9pm and 90% of users are online the objectives are worth more points, then at 4 am when 5% of the users are online the objectives are worth far less. Taking a keep while populations are high should be worth more than taking a completely undefended keep when no one is online.

The situation on SoS/IoJ/ET is getting worse and worse. I’ve never seen a map this empty of allies, and so full of enemies. What the heck is ET doing with nobody to attack? It would explain why i just got zerged at our supply camp and stomped by 15+ guys.

I’m currently at work, but just wait ’till I get home. We will send ET runnin :P

The situation on SoS/IoJ/ET is getting worse and worse. I’ve never seen a map this empty of allies, and so full of enemies. What the heck is ET doing with nobody to attack? It would explain why i just got zerged at our supply camp and stomped by 15+ guys.

I’m currently at work, but just wait ’till I get home. We will send ET runnin :P

No we won’t. The first night we still had morale and would get to at least +150. Now no one even logs on anymore and the best we do is maybe +80. This is during Aussie primetime as well and SoS is the designated aussie server. I don’t even see why ppl still que up on Eredon Terrace anymore.
