Is ArenaNet planning to make WvW Guild Missions, so WvW-focused guilds can get Merits without running PvE? (A big promise of this game is that you didn’t have to do PvE if you didn’t want to).

Some of the Merit unlocks are actually pretty good, especially the 15% reduced repairs for 24 hours. Dropping 2 or 3 of those on a weekend would be great for a WvW guild.

I’m not holding my breath though, as we don’t even have WvW Ascendeds yet, but it should be implemented.

Easier said then done. You didn’t offer any solution at all, and if you think about it – there probably isn’t an easy one.

WvW Guild Mission on map?
Objective related? ‘My server won’t help me!’ ‘My server is losing too hard to ever achieve this!’ ‘Why is this guild wasting their time going for Woodhaven when we could’ve taken keep’ ‘We can’t complete this WvW mission in EB because our guild can’t get past the queues’.
Non-objective related? Still fighting queues, not contributing anything to your server’s WvW, still has the risk of not being able to access it due to servers poor standing, servermates upset because you’re ignoring objectives and so on.

And if they implement it outside the WvW – then its not really WvW – its just a PvE guild mission with possibly a WvW theme. At that point, you’re just asking for what already exists except you want it without needing to do any map completion.

You still don’t have to do PvE anyway – some of the merit bonuses are nice, sure, but none of them have any direct impact on WvW.
