Mesmer exploit
This has been known about for ages, and why a proper Mesmer sweep is always needed and wait until he releases after killing him, a stealth thief can also hang around to res him inside as well.

Not really an exploit to res a mesmer through a wall. You can res through any thin wall or door generally, just something anet needs to fix. This has long been a frowned upon strat in wvw that probably won’t be addressed. I know I check the gates on keeps for dead players who aren’t leaving then your stuck camping them knowing the game they are going to play.
A stealth thief I also don’t find it broken. If you are careful you can always spot him and kill him. Mesmers also have stealth skills (And this is often how I hide myself from others).
Saying that be careful not to kill him when he’s close to the gate doesn’t work. Just imagine a full zerg. How many people knows that they don’t have to kill him? And even more now, that there’s people that just come in WvW for the Achivements.
It’s just impossible to keep him alive if he’s near the gate. And even like that, he can use the 2 skill when downed and “for great luck” get in range to be rezzed.
This is broken. IMO this should be fixed. Or at least, reportable and punishable.
I babysat an Augury Rock Mesmer who was at 90% healed at green keep eb watergate for two hours one day. He didn’t manage to flip the keep. I was the more patient one it appears. He finally gave up after three attempts over two hours by one of his teammates to rez him was thwarted.
While I’m ambivalent about this tactic, at least you can counter it, by being more patient than the Mesmer, and killing him or his buddies. It’s definately a pain though. However, if you value that keep, you better pack patience. If you leave, with the mechanic the way it is now, you have no one to blame but yourself if you lose it.
While I’ve used this tactic myself a whopping two times, I haven’t done it in nearly six months now. I’d much rather play hide and seek on my Mesmer. More fun.

We have had that discussion going on in our present matchup and have come to a temporary agreement that although it may be a cheap way to reacquire a keep or tower once it has been taken that it is part of the current game mechanic and not really reportable or punishable.
At first I would not die near the gate with my mesmer but after reflection, if my hiding spot is found I will make the effort to do so and have done it 4 times this matchup. Each and every time however, I was NOT rezzed through the gate. Once I was resurrected by a thief who was also inside while the other 3 times I stayed and kept half a dozen people guarding me while a gate was rammed down.
The only time I reported a mesmer for dying near the gate was when that mesmer used an “exploit” to keep resetting the release timer, something I have never done but it is something I am aware of and we tested it under a controlled environment (thanks to a Scarlet present) to insure that what we witnessed that mesmer doing was indeed an exploit. I have since found other ways to extend that release timer.
So in conclusion the process of having a mesmer die by the gate is a valid one, and actually forces the enemy to post a guard until release. What is not a valid tactic is using an exploit to extend the release timer.
