If you’re in an enemy garrison (only place you’d be having this issue) and you aren’t coordinated enough to cut off reinforcements from one tiny spot, then you deserve to lose, as your skill is obviously below that of your opponents and the only reason you are in their garrison anyway is you outnumber them significantly.
Add to the above this doesn’t work if the Mesmer is in combat. It’s quite easy to prevent.

Wait, I’m confused, am I not allowed to use Portal to help people move around faster? What am I supposed to use 20 charges in 10 seconds (once every 90 seconds) for?
…Backtracking? Even though the second portal we place is clearly labelled “Exuent”/Exit by our skills, and the first one is “Entre”/Entrance?

Well, the fact is, i’m not in the opponent garrison, it’s mine, and it’s way too easy to defend garrison from any organized outnumbered attacking group coming from watergate, because you can easily teleport back up to keep players coming back to fight at fast rate.
And if they want to prevent you from doing this, they have to either split their attacking force, to go behind a closed gate at north inner, which is dangerous because they are already outnumbered, or all go there and let the defenders close any opened gates.

And that’s fine. Keeps and towers are already too easy to take in WvW’s current state. Hills is about the only properly designed keep in borderlands (i’m not often in EB, but red keep seems fine).
A simple fix:
- max 3 golems + 1 omega per team per map at any given time.
- increase HP of all doors.
- make doors immune against player damage (this will also fix single players being able to contest a keep forever).

The issue with it is that a mesmer can place a portal and get people into garrison from inside their spawn. There is no way to “look” for people gathering for a portal if they’re in that spawn, so there is really no way to counter besides killing the mesmer. That being said, portal doesn’t need a nerf to it. They should just make it so you can’t portal OUT of the spawn (how they would do that, I don’t know).
BUT I have been part of some great bag farming festivals where people try this and we just sit there and kill them. They have to portal into a corner, so if you see them doing it, it’s easy bags.

I don’t see a problem. Its fine to have a little home map advantage. Its not like its any different on your own BL.

I’ve only found a handful of situations where I both needed and was able to use this tactic since I thought of it about four months ago. This should be lowest priority to be changed, if at all, and I don’t believe it should be touched at all.
RvR isn’t “endgame”, it’s the only game. Cu in CU.
You don’t even have to kill the mesmer. Just make sure he is in combat and thus cannot port back to the spawn point.
This is all part of strategy, if there was no strategy this would be a boring game.
Also you cant do this everywhere because if I’m not mistaken there is a hidden range on this, you cant teleport from regular WP to SMC.
