So, I only recently found out there was jumping puzzles IN WvW, and that they rewarded the badges I have been fighting forever to get. But I’m getting fairly mixed info on these chests.

1: Reset time. One question, 4 different answers.

• Resets on Daily Achievements
• Resets 24 hours
• Resets per Bracket/“Match”
• Resets never.

And also, people have told me you could get “Upgraded” Siege from this chest. Yes/No?

3 Borderlands, supposedly a jumping puzzle in each one. The maps are exactly the same, and I expect the jumping puzzle to be the same as well. Is it? Someone told me you can only do “One” of these Borderlands jumping puzzles, and it counts for doing all of them.

Lastly, are the badges you get out of the chest scaled to your character’s base level? Or is it clearing a map that awards badges on base level? I get mixed info on that, as well.

Thank you in advance for enlightening me! I’ve been breaking my back trying to get badges for my legendary (Besides map completion, the only thing I need.) I enjoy WvW and all, but my luck with badges as drops are awful. So if I can figure out this info, It might help speed the process up immensely.

They reset same as every other jumping puzzle (think that’s on Daily Achievements)

You can do the puzzle in each borderland + EB for a total of 4 puzzles a day.

Badges are fixed to a set interval, badge drops do not scale with your level from any source.

Personally I’ve never gotten upgraded siege, but I can’t rule their existence out since I haven’t done the puzzles too regularly.

It’s definitely not during daily reset. I did the EB and a BL puzzle last night, then checked again three hours after reset , and the chests (EB loot and BL keys) were still open for me and wouldn’t let me loot.

I’m iffy on saying every 24 hours, because I can remember a particular instance where I made sure to return to the EB puzzle a little later than when I did it the day before, and the chest was still unavailable for me. But as I didn’t really time it accurately, I couldn’t say for sure.

I think the chest loot rewards scale according to your character level. You will get less rewards if you do it with a low level character compared to when you do it with a higher level one (I could be wrong, though, but I’ve gotten 4 badges on a pre-20 character then received 12 badges on my 80 from the EB). The puzzles are also named differently from each other and doing one Borderland puzzle doesn’t equate to having finished the other two as well.

It’s on roughly a 24 hour respawn. The respawn timer does not run while you are still in Obsidian Sanctum or in Mistwrought Vaults, this is to prevent people from camping those areas but people still do so (at their own expense).

the chest spawns on the following conditions:

24hours since you last opened it,
server resets for new build/patch,
new weekly matchup.

the equipment you get is scaled to your level.
the chest WILL RESET in exactly 24 hours, even if you are right next to the chest as it hits the reset time. as in, the chest will close infront of your eyes, and you can open it again.

the timer DOES continue if you are in the puzzles, there is no harm in staying in. the 3 borderlands chests do NOT share a cooldown.

you cannot get superior siege from chests.

you can use any combination of keys from any borderlands to open any borderlands chests.

and honestly, you’ll get more badges if you get some friends and go around killing people, instead of doing these puzzles. the people you kill along the way will net you more badges than the actual chest will.

Only gear rewards are scaled to level. Badges are anywhere from 5-20 I think. I’ve gotten 15+ on my low level and as low as 6 on my lvl 80 ele.
