JQ Ranger
Monday Morning Quarterbacks
There are lots of solutions in these forums. Devon and friends just choose to ignore them and do their own thing. Sadly, the game feels like beta.
Anet lied (where’s the Manifesto now?)
Too many people want to complain and offer little or no solutions.
I have a solution…all the complainers should go off and design the MMO they want and let the rest of us enjoy a well designed and enjoyable MMO while we wait for your epic one to roll out.
Ironic…

Let me know when you find said mmo.
Thanks OP, totally forgot about this.
Unfortunately, CU only comes out in 2015, and since I don’t think I’ll learn advanced Graphic Design/3d Modelling/Databases/C++ to make a game alone in 1 year, we’ll keep making our suggestions here.

People are like, “GW2 is so awful! The devs hate us and are trying to ruin our fun!”
And then other people are like, “if you don’t enjoy the game, why do you play it?”
And then they’re like, “I want to leave, it’s just that there isn’t anything better available right now…”
So you’re playing the best game on the market and are upset that it’s not better?

I think “best game on the market” is an overstatement. “Potentially the best game” sounds a bit more accurate. I think that is what makes for a lack of understanding for the development time spent on certain things by the players.
For example:
“Why would you introduce a cast of meaningless characters that pose no real threat to Tyria and have no significant connection to the overall lore?”
“Why would you put in the same unbalanced orb buff but with capture points that rely on coverage to hold?”
“Why are they trying to shove conquest down our throats until we all gag and throw up?”
Again, these are just a few of the ideas that come to mind when I think of this game. I use the word “think” because I have no intention of investing anymore time into a game that has a development team so ignorant that it alone is a deciding factor for many leaving this game.
Tons, tons, tons of solution on these forums.
And not only solutions, GW2 has people who have played RvR games since they were created. (Most people think that’s DAoC, but it’s actually a text MUD called Darkness Falls, also by Mythic).
From this past experience people have been predicting which patches would be good, and which would be bad, and warning against the bad ones.
But as the expression goes, those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.

Yes, and I have never seen more posts warning against any changes than I did for THIS patch. What happened, do you ask? Guild disbanded, communities moved on, and a void is going to be left behind.
Yet, we haven’t even hit Seasons yet. I can only imagine what’s next…

You misunderstand me. I wasn’t saying GW2 is the best on the market—that’s just the reason everyone gives when asked why they keep playing a game they claim to hate. “Well, there’s nothing better…”
I again refer people to actual statistics if they want to know how the developers are doing. I don’t have any of those, of course, but the number of views per patch note are a rough approximation. The August 6th patch received the most views in the game’s history—that was when the living world votes were announced and solo queue PvP was introduced. So maybe the devs are just smarter than people think…?
Of course they’re not listening if everyone is saying “GW2 is dying, everyone is leaving,” when their data shows the game is doing better than ever. I don’t know if it is for a fact or not, but it appears that way and I haven’t seen anyone post evidence to the contrary.
There are plenty of suggestions on these forums. People go to great length to explain problems and solutions in detail, often the same way a technical document would be written and presented to a developer. They are respectful, curious yet are totally ignored, or even worse, responded to in condescending ways by said developers. When this happens time and time again, how do you think people will react?
Look at all the treads discussing bloodlust and suggestions to fix it. Lots of fair and valid feedback. Devon replies to one post – one saying how great the patch was, that’s it. No thread created by a developer to discuss the situation. Talk about an us-them relationship. I can’t help but wonder if the developers simply have an agenda which doesn’t involve the rest of us. God knows who would want to play their game if this continues…
Bloodlust is not going to help the game or community. If that isn’t clear by now, no amount of ‘constructive’ feedback will help. We may as well stroke the dev’s ego in hope they may actually come and try to rationalize this situation with us….

The reason why the monday morning quarterback analogy is usually so effective is because football takes a combination of inborn physical attributes, conditioning and injury avoidance luck, years of practice learning the sport, and everything gets faster and more painful as you progress your way up to the professional level. Quarterback is not a position that even a remotely motivated person could take over quickly enough for it to be worth the effort and risk of changing professions.
Likewise, if you’re going to dare people to ‘take over’ someone’s job, you should first make sure that it’s something extremely difficult or dangerous, and that it takes years of advanced training, near impossible to earn internships, and unique abilities that most of the population have been proven not to have. If it’s something along the lines of a low-skilled laborer or other entry level job, you definitely shouldn’t hand the janitor’s broom over to someone else and demand they show you a better way of cleaning. Instead, you probably want to be a bit more appreciative that your job hasn’t been outsourced to the global marketplace, because of how little unique training it requires anyone to do aside from knowing a specific language.

Or maybe you should pay attention. Many forum users predicted what would happen BEFORE it went live. They were right. It wasn’t too hard to know that bloodlust would impact balance.
Forum users also made plenty of bloodlust suggestions. Try doing a search before writing a post.

yeah a lot of people here have predicted the mess we are in right now. people that play wvw every day for hours and are used to siegeing, zvz and defending keeps, know what things can be exploited and how things can be bad for wvw.
we all warned anet about bloodlust. the new terrain looks very pretty, but it feels very disconnected form wvw. its like a big spvp map in the middle of the map. we would have welcomed some sort of arena for gvg way more than this.
there are so many awesome suggestions in this forum and also warnings about leagues for example, but anet seems to ignore it and still goes through with it.
same with balancing classes. we need a wvw balance, but now that anet is turning the maps into a big spvp field, they wont have to balance differently anymore.
anet:please listen to us. we play this gamemode way more than u do and just looking at numbers is not gonna help u. u gotta fix the server population before u can move forward to the leagues.
alliances, improve outmanned buff, improve keeps before introducing more siege masteries. ad gvg areas, give guilds a way to build something to protect keeps, introduce traps and new terrain around towers an keeps that slow down zergs….etc
there is soo much out there anet. check the forums again and just try to implement some of the suggestions. if u are not sure, make a test server for us. test servers are pretty good so devs and players can work closer together and find solutions together. stop shutting us out, work with us.

OP is from JQ… says everything is great.
Fantastic… everyone move to JQ so he can start kittening some more about queue times. lol Brilliant
Stat increase = gear grind.
Gear grind = no money from me ever again.
