We as a guild are looking for a lower tier server where we can hopefully have more fun instead of blobbing only. When looking at the server list I was astonished to find out it would cost me 1800 gems to transfer to a tier 7 server (Underworld) or 1000 gems for a tier 8 server.

Why is this so expensive? Why do we all have to pay 1000/1800 gems to transfer to a weaker server?

It’s been brought up for a year now and still to no avail. We are willing to pay a fair price but not these kind of prices. Are you allergic to our money or something?

Wvw tier doesnt affect the price the world population do(which doesnt affect tier totally)

The whole server pop for cost is among the dumbest things in the game since you can guest everywhere except wvw. Pretty clear who is to blame for the current moneygrubbing.

The hard truth .. Anet does not care, that is why. We addressed this issue in the CDI thread and it seemed at the time they were agreeing that this was an issue, now its apparent they were just humoring us and plan to do nothing about it.

Population stability.

if the cost was too low, guilds would go back to changing servers every 2-3 weeks and wreaking havoc with the tiers and server health.

and yes the current transfer cost system is stupid.

Because people whined and Anet responded. Now people are whining the other way. Since they found out they can get some money out of it, they haven’t bothered to change it. BG pays $10000000 a week to buy guilds. You think they want to stop that cash flow?

If you want to transfer, the cost shouldn’t matter.

What does this comment mean? Like, who is actually paying what, to whom, for what here? And why?

Too bad this is one of the major reasons why servers like Blacktide, Underworld and Ring of Fire can’t recruit WvW people so well even though quite alot of good players reside there…perhaps measurement of WvW performance as cost derive should replace costs based on population.

If you want a pleasant and enjoyable WvW experience, I wouldn’t recommend moving to underworld.
