What if any music do you all listen to when you’re playing WvW?

I’ve been playing a lot of E.S. Posthumus lately, makes everything seem like an epic movie whether I’m part of a zerg or being killed by an angry moose. I’ve grown really sick of choir based stuff ever since the epicness of these tracks got douchified by the people using them everywhere.

Because of memories, and tons of situations which were related to these games, with all the funny kitten my friend and I did I can’t think of WvW without thinking of one of these tracks now.

What a great thread! Thanks for bringing this topic up. I’ve often wished I could listen to great music for the battles. I particularly like the plug.dj thing! I have a few questions about how that works. Like, do you get to select from a playlist, or is it a stream that you just join into? This seems like it wouldn’t be a drag on your puters system either. My rig isn’t bad, but it’s just not as new and bawss as I would like. I really need to beg alienware to send me a ‘test’ rig. :p….. yeah that’s gonna happen /eyeroll. lol

I only changed the music for character select screen, battles and boss battles because i otherwise like the GW2 music and i didnt want to lose all of it.

It for me made the already enjoyable wvw… insanely fun.

Do you happen to know which playlists activate where? For example, if generate an “ambient” playlist, will it start playing wherever/whenever, or only when my character is somewhere specific or doing something?

These are the categories you can make a soundtrack for:
Ambient
Battle
BossBattle
City
Crafting
MainMenu
NightTime
Underwater

I think Ambient might be general background music that includes PVE etc, I only changed Battle, BossBattle, and MainMenu (to test, but i left it) and they all work great. At all other times the original gw2 music remains. Many dungeons are near constant mob aggro (i.e. battle) so just keep that in mind if you change that soundtrack.

You can always make a new soundtrack or just delete the soundtrack you made to return to the original.

I generally do not listen to music when wvw’ing as I solo or small group. Being able to hear voices over TS and hearing enemy character sounds is quite important. (you can tell when the enemy uses a certain skill, dodge rolling according to sound if not facing them)

When I do listen to music however, it has to be something not too slow and have hard enough bass. Either hard/tek -style or j-hhc.
