Anet spent 2 years not listening to ideas which are probably the same ones that are mentioned in the chinese forums. If the chinese servers are losing players because the point system is meaningless, tell them the trick is to stop caring about points and start enjoying the fights :P

They don’t care point from start because the queue is 1000+, need to queue about 6 hours to get in, so they don’t have to worry about timezone. After a month they starting to worry about point, some server have some players can still playing when their enemy is sleeping, so the timezone is important now, but most China server players is Sea timezone player, they gonna fight from dinner to breakfast to take points, they have asked China server company to change WVW rule, maybe take point from 12pm~12am, but they just don’t change anything, so yes China server have cared about point in a short time, but most of time they fight with maga zerg 85~115ppl
( China server borderland can hold115ppl, and EB can hold 85ppl, that LAG is WOW!!!)
they fight and fight and fight, some “GVG” 80VS80 have a record 40:0 in 5hours…
After lots of fight and lag, some player feel boring and AFK, so their server maybe always have not enough people or no enemy. Why no enemy? Because some server just have some people playing in midnight and don’t sleep!!! they got 695 ppt over 8 hours everyday, even you can crush their everything in Sea time, Point still lose them after you wake up, and all keep and camps upgraded sometime.
So, China server T1 have no queue now, and have lots of botting, more player leaveing.
They don’t care point now, cause it is useless, they only play WvW from 7pm to 11pm. Some people don’t leave this game because there’s not any game better than this game
to them, but they only feel sad to the company and the game.
But yes, they should play WvW like PVE, its Anet’s hope right?

As for fights once they learn to zergbust (using ~20 people to kill 40-60) the fights will seem its all about numbers because the lag makes it so you can only press #1. Once the first guild starts being able to use 20 people to kill massive zergs everything will change, they will see how exciting it is to fight like that and why wvw is fun.
This is all assuming the chinese havent researched gvg guilds and zergbusting builds already and quickly learnt how to because 80 people using correct builds who know how to fight and using teamspeak (voice communications) cannot get killed by 20 unless theyre exceptional.

Yes there is some people say they can only play in night because they are study abroad.

So the other server beated by them starting to learn gather all people in one blob, because they think one guild can’t do anything to this, they form a big blob instead of 3 or 4 guild fight together. and now they become a experience high personal ability zerg, their cmd just have to say"AOE them",“range profession go forward hit them”,“find a good place to AOE”and"if you die just run back".
There is some China server guild went to FA a few weeks ago.
they are Ra, Red, News, with about total 150+people in Sea timezone
if there’s a day FA matchups with JQ and have a intense fight,
I think there will have more China guild go to FA too.

A certain enemy server has gathered a couple hundred Chinese to PPT for them off hours and they use the same 80+ blob tactic. We have much smaller numbers but the lag created in the fight makes it almost impossible to use any skills so the 80+ blob wins by default. The only real advantage is playing defense and farming their waves of assaults until they finally win with numbers.
And having a similar Chinese blob on our side to counter them would only lag even more. Sorry, but smashing 1111 isn’t why I play. I would prefer all blobs go elsewhere.

Blob vs blob in China server is very general and continue from start to now, if they can queue 2.5 map, they will queue 2 map, if they can only queue 1.5map, they will all queue 1 map, so you will always see them in full map zerg, unless they don’t have ability to queue a map, but their zerg still huge.

I know what you mean but you’ve got to look at the funny side of it. In the old days on our servers this would happen, you just got to see it as an accomplishment that they bring 80 when they could’nt beat you with 60 or 40, call in another guild once its 80 and farm then (not by blobbing up but by pushing one after the other over and over like youre two different waves).
What im saying is dont worry so much about how the blob tactic caps more keeps than using small guilds, you just enjoy the kills and knowing that the enemy is scared enough of you to have to bring a map blob to fight you, once you start seeing the glory in that youll have a lot more fun and enjoy knowing the other server’s blob fears you guild tag.

Yeah I’ve noticed they don’t like fighting alone. If you try to 1vs1 they will run away and try to find their zerg blob. They completely depend on their numbers and shy away from small scale fights.
Not sure if they’re just timid to fight alone or if they adopted this mindset from their current server. lol If you catch a small group 5vs5 and chase to fight they will run and look for a camp or tower to PvD instead. :/ It’s like they were given strict orders not to waste time fighting unless it’s a door for PPT.
If that’s all they do on your servers I’m not looking forward to them spilling off over here.

China server still have some PVPers that roaming and solo, some of them is really strong, and its hard to play with 300+ms delay with mesmer or thief if you want to play China server :/ they play in US server have these delay too.
I understand that Sunny but if you base a guild off win/lose in WvW you’re going to disband a lot.
Do you think the ones who recently transferred to the US server are generally “good” and well known compared to what you fight over there? Just want to gauge if this is all there is to look forward to or if there’s a guild that will be a lot more experienced.

Yeah a fights guild can’t survive if their mentality is that they want to quit or disband after a few wipes, that mentality is for the blobs theyre aiming to wipe. A fights guild is expected to see wipes as a learning experience and simply part of wvw.

I remember that three guild in FA don’t like to use siege, they just like to fight without siege, because some people think use sieges means you are weak than your enemies. but China server have zooming hack that can see everything from very very high position, so AC’s is very terrible there. and they got some rich man build an omega army too, the guild cata in China server is 4 gold and omega is 5 gold.

All the same, just some picture like necro’s skull changed, the critical hits is yellow instead of red . what update in US server will update in China server too.
China server and US server CDKey is Independent, so if they want to play in US, they have to buy US CDKey and create a new account.
Most isp allowed, there are many China people still playing US server, and even some student studying in Europe playing China server too.
i think its funny that youre saying that the chinese servers have very little coverage outside of major chinese time zones. because people who arent chinese dont play the chinese version of gw2.

I said this in a couple of other threads, but to me it seems like one major complaint I hear is the same one Im hearing here.

I think queue priority would fix a lot of the problems people complain about. The longer you have been on a server and playing WvW on that server the higher priority you have in that server’s queues.
Im fairly new compared to a lot of people and this still seems fair to me. It would likely drive me down to a lower tier server but I dont see why someone who has been playing on a server for years should be locked out of a map because Im ahead of them in queue.

If your there for loot there only so much you can get out of it. If your there to take keeps tower etc.. and hold them for ppt there more you can get out of it. If your there for just simply pvp your going to get a very different expertness out of it.
Any way your problem with WvW is a problem that all RvR games your CU or i like to call it copper is going to run into the same thing over time it just going to have more pve in the mix of wvw becuse there is no side places to pve only (in the ideal of there gear progression etc.. so you will need to aim your RvR game play at one point and time at the pve in its system).

If your there to take keeps tower etc.. and hold them for ppt there more you can get out of it. If your there for just simply pvp your going to get a very different expertness out of it.
Any way your problem with WvW is a problem that all RvR games your CU or i like to call it copper is going to run into the same thing over time it just going to have more pve in the mix of wvw becuse there is no side places to pve only (in the ideal of there gear progression etc.. so you will need to aim your RvR game play at one point and time at the pve in its system).

Well they are by adding in a new bl with new effects and at the same time cutting the old bl off for a time to keep wvw fresh for ppl. But even the new bl will get boring in time. You add in more maps or you add in more progression for pvp aimed. You cant add in stories for the most part. You maybe able to add in a boss fight in wvw though i think that is done though keep lords/ towers.

That very counter to the ideal of GW2 and is the main reason why they are removing map completion from wvw. For a game like GW2 you need a new map from time to time (the new bls and the rotation system should cover this) some wvw only skins (we did get the weapons though more maybe nice too) and new classes / builds (the new “super” classes should go a long way to add wvw content and it seems like a class system where a lot of new jobs will be added) even something like Guild halls may add a bit more guild pride to wvw. As things stand its more of an issue of time we know a lot is coming out that will effect wvw but its not out now.

Anyway: I think we need a different server system.
Maybe like this: joining a server with a given charackter (each charackter can only join one game.) Those servers have a max population and will be closed when the max population is reached. Those WvW servers also have certain times when they can be played on. If you want to play some other time – use a different charackter, join a different game.
To me what I need is a system that makes me care for the outcome of a WvW fight again. Right now it is only about population and time zones.
Concerning Zergs:
What about a new Condition called “Taunt”:
When active it will also activate friendly fire. So the back line of a zerg will have to really be carefull about who they bomb and about condition removal. In small fights the skill would make almost no difference at all.
