As some will know, I hate JP’s with a passion, never been a fan of platform games and now I’m old these are completely no fun at all.

Anyway, started doing the EB puzzle (it’s morning, not taking up any queue space), before long met a few others, we squad up. Along the way, we pass several AM players who we either let go past or they let us go past- we’re all just there to get the JP done and get out. Finally complete it with much help from a mesmer.

Move to Deso BL. Guess what- two thief gankers sitting there just inside who attack you just after the first jump, followed in by two more griefers who managed to kill me as I was on low HP and cooldowns after the thief battle.

I still fail to see what possible enjoyment there is in double (or more) teaming against people who would rather be anywhere else then in a stupid JP in the first place- at least have the balls to go solo, not have someone to hold your hand. Is your real life really that sad?

EDIT: move to AM BL, meet people from AM, wave at each other, carry on.

Still couldn’t complete it, my co ordination keeps failing me – JP’s are not something I’ll ever be good at.

Gave up on the JP completion for wvw achievements, now have no choice other than to kill 6 million dolyaks (why are 250 dolyaks or whatever equivalent to ONE JP that takes experts 3 minutes to do..).

Please remove this kitten from wvw achievements next time- or better yet, don’t repeat achievements at all in season 2.

I found the JP achievements the easiest ones. You said it yourself it takes “experts” 3 minutes to do.

Thus it is a skill based achievement and should be kept.

Or don’t. I bet you anything the world will turn and the sun will still rise…

I guess ‘achievement’ is kind of the key word. Sounds like everything you want to be an achievement isn’t an achievement at all. You want AP handouts. Those who WvW often won’t care about your achievement point whining. Go kill a million yaks and then you’ll have a reasonable voice.
You can’t jump from rock to rock therefore the entire thing is stupid?

let me help you out, threads like these are exactly the reason why people camp jp’s.

as long as people cry and get mad, there will always be jp campers.

You know, maybe those thieves were just doing their WvW achievements for player kills.

Perhaps OP is not as mature as his/her “now I’m old” comment would lead us to believe? The amount of tears in that post…

• Could’ve asked for help in map chat.
• Could’ve not played the “immature” thieves’ game and returned later.
• Could’ve resigned self that not every achievement is achievable.
• Could’ve vented somewhere else.

Just try it again when matched against different servers, or when your server gets the blue map. (Gandara is blue Round 5 11/15 thru 11/22.) I’ve done 3/4, haven’t even tried the fourth one because I know there’s a high chance this week that someone’ll be waiting there to gank anyone going through. Not my bag.

Hint: Gather the key pieces in your own Borderlands, then move to an enemy BL and walk straight into the vault with a trollface

No-one who cares anything for WvW is going to help people farm achievements. Anyone who does try to help you will likely be useless at it and just get farmed themselves.

Stupid question, what do JPs have to do with WvW??? Why are they in the WvW achievement list all? I vote remove the four achievements and lower the total required by 4.

I love this game but absolutely hate JPs and trying to do them in WvW is even worst than in PvE. The last thing I need in my life is to deal with gankers in WvW JPs when I want to have some fun.

If this game turns into a JP game then ANet can kiss my wallet goodbye and I can finally attempt to finish my huge backlog of other games/MMOs.

Keep the JPs in PvE where I can ignore them. If I want a game for jumping puzzles, then I go but a 2D jumping puzzle game and not play a MMO.

How dare ANet ask someone to do optional* content once over a seven week span in a pvp zone and then reward you when you complete it. That sounds completely awful and should be removed from the game. I can’t believe that they are now making jumping puzzles and some kind of challenging content be worth something in the meta achievement. Its a good thing they have never ever done this before in any world event ever. This game should be easy enough that I can play it blindfolded with spoons taped to my fingers. If this becomes standard I’m going to take my money that I don’t pay for this subscription free game that I purchased over a year ago and play something else but really I’ll come back after a month.

Actually I just hate all jumping puzzles, the last time I enjoyed them was when I was about 7 years old.

There is enough of them (in every living world release almost), in maps, etc to keep anyone who enjoys platform games happy- no requirement for them in wvw at all. They contribute nothing to wvw, so I fail to see why they are there, or count towards a WVW achievement (maybe they should just count towards a Jump Puzzle achievement for pve).

I was highlighting the fact that some players are sensible and allow others to just get it done and move on, whilst others get some sort of kick from denying others something. (usually they play thiefs..enough said).

Given that I totally fail at jumping in games (or in RL since about 30), or indeed anything that requires a high degree of co ordination as well as a decent connection, you might understand my frustration at their inclusion.

I’m really not that fussed about the gankers (I’ll kill plenty of them in battles in wvw, I think i’m well ahead on points there), more my own inability to be able to jump- and as I have said since beta, why are they even there?

one achivement for making a jp once and sieging SM 5 times. it must not be too easy. btw its a battlefield. team up, fight, survive. work for your achi!

Remove JP’s I agree, I didn’t buy portal 2 I bought Guild wars 2.

What would be a great achievement though… “defend tower/yak/keep/SM x amount of times”

Might help remove the “let it flip for achievement points // WxP”

I don’t understand why players complain about PvP in PvP areas when they agree to the terms by entering the PvP zone.

I enjoy doing PvP in JP. I don’t actually kill the players, unless they attack me. I simply trow them overboard with control skills (fear) and prevent the jumps (chills and pulls). The in-game bullying is horribly sweet.

It’s the jumping part I can’t stand, and I just want to get it over with so I can get back to the pvp- you might have noted the two thiefs that attacked me died. It’s the combination of my inability to co ordinate jumping added to the oh so brave 2/3/4v1 that makes completing them a complete pain in the kitten . On a good day with no one else in there it will take me around 30 minutes to an hour to complete one.

I’m glad some people derive enjoyment from doing these. I’m also happy for those that spend their time in groups ganking people, if that’s what makes them happy. Doesn’t mean I like it.

If it’s such misery for you, why are you doing it?
Surely the 5 AP or whatever it is for the jumping puzzle can’t be worth the trouble.
I don’t run dungeons because I find them painful and unfun.
Doing them for the sake of AP makes absolutely no sense to me.

As clearly your problem is not related to the PvP side of the JP, the best thing i can say is to try to find help to boost your way up. Check the JP until you find some Mesmers are already in there that can portal you up. It helps a lot. Either that or get lucky and enter when no1 else is in there!

Personally, I don’t give a flying kitten for the JPs.

I just wish they hadn’t made them 4 of the 19 achies when you need 15. Obviously that means JP haters have to get all the others, some of them are quite excessive e.g. is it 50 ruin captures? several thousand Dolyaks/Guards/Mercenaries. etc.

Most of them I will get just in the course of playing the game but others I suspect I’ll have to deliberately grind at the end of the period. I hate that.

I did wvw jp’s before the new achievements, and I will continue after they’re over. I would certainly help lead someone through it if I had time. I’ve gotten exotics from the BL chests and you get badges from the EB chest, so why not?

I die all the time in dungeons, they are too hard, please remove them from the game

I beat the thiefs on my own- it was the next two that attacked as i was stomping the second that managed to get me that time.

Like I have said elsewhere, if you can’t come out into wvw and battle against players then keep hiding in the JP- maybe you just fail so badly out there that your only chance of killing another player is in the JP? It’s a place for the weak to make themselves feel better by killing pve’rs or by ganging up on a solo player.

JP gankers make me laugh- an almost complete waste of space who contribute nothing to their server whilst taking up spaces in wvw that could be better used by people who might want to help their server in the match up. And I really mean, I laugh. To me, your pathetic and deserving of sympathy, but if that’s what you enjoy in the game, then go right ahead.

BL JPs are actually ok, you can fight back there; EB JP on other hand is absurd, you don’t even get a chance to fight someone who keeps preventing you from proceeding further

luckily, i play thief so i can come from behind those campers but how many other classes can?

Actually, it was a dig at Deso .. though he doesn’t say so. He quite happily completed the JP in AM, he waved to opponents from AM and they happily skipped together to their achievement. Then, dramatically, on Deso BL he gets ganked by 2 thieves.

@Vic .. I’m not sorry you got ganked but can appreciate that it was a pain .. I hate JPs too (though I do find that a bottle of beer or 3, and a bunch of Guildies makes for a much better though less co-ordinated, experience) and do them only if I absolutely have too, or it is a ‘fun’ guild event (see my caveats).

If you’d had come to the JP when CS were there, we’d have left you alone to get on with it .. not everyone is out to get the JP achievers.
