I want to share my complaints and suggestions for the OS Arena.
People wish to duel and do GvGs in the Arena. Sadly that often gets ruined by groups of players who like to run around in the Arena just attacking anyone they see and finishing them off. This happends in the Arena itself and just outside of the Arena.
My suggestions:
Duels
Let the OS Arena be PvE only (all friendly) until you /bow or /duel PlayerName. This makes the arena a real dueling arena, you don’t have to worry about hitting anyone els and you don’t have to worry about getting ganked. People can’t touch you except for the person you requested a duel with.
Remove any Loot or WXP from the bodies in the Obsidian Sanctum, people will be less likely to ‘gank’ players since they won’t be rewarded in any way. I am not sure if this will do the trick though since some people are just plain evil
GvG
OS Arena will stay a PvE Zone
For GvGs we can have a ‘GvG Register’ that only the Guild Leaders can use, with this function you can set a date for a GvG to be played at. This needs to be signed by one guild leader from X guild and one guild leader from Y guild. Also to stop abuse make it like 15 people from both guilds need to sign it.
Let’s say a GvG can’t take place from X time till X time (usually an hour or so), the Guild Leaders can just remove it by both agreeing to remove it. (both guild leaders need to accept). If they forget about it, the GvG will be thrown away after 5 minutes when there aren’t enough players of X or Y guild in the middle zone.
If for example Guild X has 10 people while Guild Y has only 9 right before the GvG starts, Guild X will get a pop up like in PvP Hotjoin to ‘Volunteer’ to be excluded of the GvG.
When the GvG starts, no one can enter the zone anymore. Once all Guild members of X or Y guild are downed the match will be done and there will be one point handed out to the winning guild. This continues for one hour or so or until the Guilds decide to end it.
For the duelers there is still plenty of room to duel whitout entering the middle zone.
