I think my thoughts are about this. Don’t really know how DR is now, so us (DH) and DR may or may not be flipped int hat equation. GOM is still probably gonna be first if the current match is any indication (though SF may be holding back till the actual start of the season). Don’t know the bottom three, but could be rotated any which way.

Unlike Season 1, when all of bronze knew that HoD would take first. This 2nd go around should be fairly close. A lot of servers have claimed their guilds or part of their guilds are on “vacation”. We all know that when the tournament starts, the PvE AP grinders will come out in hordes to WvW. I like breaking up my predictions into brackets, its not a sure lock, but it helps judge where I think a server will be placed.

Its really hard to call this one. I know that its going to be the most competitive league.

I transferred over to Kaineng from SBI yesterday; they had a very competent commander in EoTM advertising that they needed numbers, and frankly, I was getting really, really tired of having 10 man groups get squashed by 70+ man FA zergs.

What I saw last night boded well; during Primetime and a little bit into SEA time, Kaineng had some very, very good coordination going on. Far better then I’d ever seen on SBI, to be honest. Small numbers holding back and checking larger zergs left and right, feints, just a generally high level of capability.

I will be honest; I don’t care much about the end of season rewards, not after last time around, and I don’t care much about losing as long as it was relatively close. Kaineng looks like it’s going to be quite a bit of fun.

Despite Dh’s heavy losses, we do have a massive pve population to draw on, that’s what won us 2nd in last season even though SF were clear favorite for 2nd. DR is a complete wild card atm, we’ve only seen them do well against FC/AR, but neither of those servers are even close to being able to compete with GoM/SF (sf, last time they faced FC, beat them by hundreds of thousands, GoM also beat AR pretty bad last time they met them).

I think the 5/6 and 3/4 are the most up for grabs (as my list shows I can’t even begin to make a guess on 3/4). 1-4 is also really competitive and there could be an upset there from any server (SF holding back it’s true strength, DR’s massive transfers being enough to push them over, Dh’s massive PvE pop blotting out the sun of WvW).

We recently moved to FC when the reduced gem cost hit. We have been enjoying it down here in “bronze” league. Honestly i dont really care where FC places because we play for the fights and not PPT. DR may be the new “bandwagon” or whatever you want to call it but having alot of numbers doesnt mean that server is skilled. In fact Krew has farmed guild groups running 10-20 more than us every night so far during our current matchup against DR. So who cares if they PPT the first place when i sleep, at least i know during the time we are on and raiding we “win”

I think its kind of silly people think current standings accurately represent how leagues will go. Guild groups are nice, and all, and in bronze they’re a bonus, however its really a lot of pugs that are your workers. Having these ‘organized guild groups’ around is a nice morale booster to the pug populace. I’m sure Darkhaven recalled what happened to SF’s population the first time they saw us in leagues, and how it fell off after HoD coupled with leagues ending. GoM is no HoD, so Im sure we should see a strong constant of players out there during leagues or it is my hope at the least.

But regardless to all servers, I do wish you all of the best, and look forward to seeing you all out there on the fields of battle, have fun in leagues, the one time period Anet forces us to play the PPT if we want some alright rewards.

Of course I’d like to see GoM win it, but I think it’s too early to call us the favorite. Every team in bronze has talented squads that can terrorize any potential matchup. Once activity picks up for leagues and the herds of achievement hunters are unleashed, it’s really anyone’s game.

As long as everyone is fighting their kittens off, I’m happy wherever we place. Bronze league is best league.

This is what I’d also predict. Fairly accurate list.

I don’t think you can really predict Bronze League, like people have said it’s going to come down to PvE people hopping in for AP.

The first week is going to be pretty important for all servers, good result and the extra people who are going to hop into WvW will hopefully stay. If you get stomped though people won’t stick around and it could end up being a long 2 months. I’m excited for the new season and it’ll be interesting to see how it develops. I honestly cant say who will win, its too early. Maybe in two weeks we will have a good idea.

On topic – I think it’s too early to really say. It’s going to come down to which servers maintain momentum as their weekend warriors and achievement hunters go back to pursuing skritt shinies elsewhere.

Morale will play as large a role in server performance as transfers. Low expectations become self-fulfilling prophecy.

I expect Gate of Madness will have a good start. We really ran out of gas 5 weeks into the last league though and this one’s longer. I’m hopin though! =)

I think SF has a good shot for first.

GoM is pushing REALLY hard because we are so excited by our success. However this kind of excitement does not last for 9 weeks, people will need to sleep eventually.

On the other hand, I’ve heard many SF saying they are taking it easy before leagues start. Of course, I’m not on SF so I don’t know the real story. However, if it is even slightly true that SF is taking a break, then they could have won this week.

Also, people are not wrong about GoM and PvE content, and I kinda expect SAB to be released on Tuesday, that will hurt us. The opposite is also true, GoM will see a big population boost for the first few weeks when everyone is grinding out achievements.

One final consideration for every server:
Nine weeks is a long time in game time, A LONG TIME. Servers change a lot in nine weeks. The server that wins Bronze League will be the server that changes for the better during those nine weeks, which means at least 4 or 5 servers have a good shot at winning 1st place.

Has anyone predicted for Eu silver yet?

I agree that Bronze will be a load of fun fighting. I also agree the general server population will have a huge impact on the over all results. With that in mind I say , Unleash the rabid achievement Beaver!

Yeah I am thinking that SF is playing a little bit of possum this week. Either that or took a nice break. I see the bronze tournament being really broken into 3 parts. First part is the PVE population + WvW population(This will last the first 2-3 weeks). Then 2-3 weeks after the PvE population drops you will have the burnouts. The last couple weeks will be the deciding factor. Who ever can find a way to keep everyone involved longest will be tough to beat. Night crews help also!!

Tho the real wildcard places are between 1st and 2nd between GoM and SF, and 3rd and 4th between DH and DR. Even 5th 6th and 7th are fairly a tossup between FC, AR and Kaineng. It really depends on how well each server does as the seasons drag on and the strength of the servers with their balance of transfers.

Congrats on your first Season 2 win, GoM!

I really think DR is being overestimated here to be completely honest.There was always a pretty big divide between t7 and t6, so DR beating 2 t7 servers doesn’t in my mind show they’re ready to beat any t6 servers. Don’t count them out though, that’s for sure.

Can anyone from DR share their queues on reset first week and queues during the rest of the matchup during na prime? SF had 4 on reset, Dh had 3, I hear FC had 1. SF continues to have at least 1 queue during prime time for eb (when I asked it was at 40 people during a weekday, and they had 2 other massive zergs in BLs).

After our strong showing in the first week everyone is STILL placing Ebay as 2nd to last? WHY?

Have a little more faith in us than that.

Because I can’t see EBay beating the like of Anvil Rock or Darkhaven. Sorry.

You gotta be realistic ; when a server starts falling, u continue to bleed players for a few months until you stabilize. Diehards and ‘too poor to transfer players’ cling on to the belief that they can turn their server fortunes around but the WvW system favours stacked servers and players " want it now " mentality will make them transfer sooner than later.
