Most of the guild perks applicable to WvW revolve around claiming a tower, keep or camp. This really limits what guilds can offer to their server, as there are only so many objectives to go around. This is especially the case on the weekend of reset, when competition is fiercest and people really defend their keeps.

What is needed is more buffs along the lines of the Road Marker. Ones that are portable and shorter.

There would be some issues as to portable buffs like these being OP if planted in a battle. But I think if the available buffs were chosen judiciously, they would be a real asset to the game.

The whole concept needs more thinking and design.

Most of the time I can’t claim a fort because they are all already claimed and none of them are running buffs. Maybe they WERE running buffs at one time but that was 12 hours ago. I have to wait for the place to get flipped so I can claim it and put a buff on there.

  • Guilds running buffs should be able to claim things from guilds not running buffs

Guild catapults and golems are one of the most useful things.

  • Add all of the other siege engines.

More meaningful guild perks probably would have helped stopped server hopping too. If I had to move to a new server and start over with guild perks, I’m not sure I’d be bothered by this.

  • What about some “guild abilities”, like utility skills or trait lines?

There is irony that guilds are one of the weakest aspects of Guild Wars 2.
