New Downed State Ability
Nah, as much as I hate waiting it out on the ground, a suicide skill would be abused by people who don’t want to be stomped. As it is when I do go down I can take some dignity in not allowing them to stomp me. But if I had a suicide skill then it wouldn’t be fair to them because nothing they could do would allow them to stomp me then unless the skill was implemented in such a way as to not do what you want it to do

I don’t see the problem here… The suicide would have the same effect as the person being stomped. You get the kill, the loot, the wxp, rally a downed ally, etc… It’s simply a faster death.

I think a large number of players wouldn’t like the suicide skill as it would take a lot of the fun out of fighting someone. Even though you get the loot, it just sort of spoils it if at the end of the stomp, you get ccd and possibly single-downed.
That’s not to say we don’t need a 5th downed ability though. I think ANet should add a 5th class-specific downed ability that has sort of an “insane desperation” theme to it. One of said skills could be a suicide-like ability. It could be balanced by having a very long cool-down, so if you’re downed multiple times you can only use it once.
You would still have to waypoint to rez. People often jump over the sides of bridges/off cliffs to avoid being stomped so this shouldn’t be an issue. For the victor it would mean no option to ‘finish’ someone, but you would gain in not having to, it can be difficult at times and sometimes they might rally.
TBH the only reason I see to have finishing is so anet can sell lots of finishers through the TP.
In certain instances though in sPvP there is a tactic where you want to keep an enemy down but not actually kill them. Simply put it stops them respawning and coming back to fight.
