Obsidian Sanctum Update: Players will now be able to enter the Obsidian Sanctum, the Eternal Battlegrounds jumping puzzle, directly through the WvW menu. Additionally, a new arena space has been added for combat between opposing groups of players, and the Borderlands Bloodlust buff will no longer apply in the Obsidian Sanctum.

Thank you, Anet! This is an amazing addition for the community that will use it. I can’t wait to see the new arena and try it out!

Don’t you guys realize it’s just going to be queued like every other map? That is unless they plan to add overflows which I can’t imagine happening until the beta map is tested thoroughly.

Now the question is how big of a group can we have? Is it finally our GvG place or is 5 the highest?

What is this so called queue? Try playing on a less stacked server.

well hopefully this will help a bit by opening spots on the map. Yet one has to wonder if guilds that like gvg will now start stack servers that are matched frequently so the can fight more often.

Why would the jumping puzzle get queued? All the PPT is on other maps!

Anyone else wondering how the griefing is going to be though? The EB JP has always been haven for griefers so I’m anxious to see how that plays out. The south camp gvg spot avoids griefers to some extent cause its a more remote. Is the Arena going to be in kinda a back alley place and secluded? Absolutely looking forward to seeing it though, very glad to have it.

I imagine the griefers will be there as well. We will just have to roll over them if they keep it up. Hopefully the actual arena will be far enough down that AoEs can’t be dropped by the spectators. Would prevent the random meteor storms or supply drops that could be dropped from above.

Now if only ANet could officially call this a GvG solution that would be great. Apparently GvG isn’t officially a thing until it has a red stamp of approval.

the griefers will die and die and die again until they get bored of getting roflstomped by skilled players and then they cry and go to sleep.

Griefing will not be a problem.

Simply put, any team or even spectators will be able to down and spike the griefer. GvG teams are often in communication with each other, so if a griefer shows up, there is no reason for them to not take care of it.

It will be a good thing for GvG and WvW alike for the simple reason thet it will free up space in the BL’s for more active WvW players.

However I’m wondering if your opponents will still drop bags there?
