I’d really prefer if they could find a way to add the tunnel back in, but prevent siege placement in it. A bit of water and a fairly narrow passage seems like the best solution.

Hmm, that’s an idea… Make it so the water underneath the bridge is deep enough that you can’t throw siege there?

That would require far more effort than just filling in the area, not bothering to remove the bridge or updating the map, and calling it a day.

Oh, I didn’t even notice it got changed until I was trying to escape from the zerg through the cap and didn’t get too far! They may be taking baby steps when it comes to fixing stuff but it’s better than nothing.
