With a new map for PvP and PvE I think it’d be a good idea for a new, maybe smaller, WvWvW map. So let’s chuck some ideas out there. Take this as you wish (serious or not) but lets have some fun!

I thought maybe a city fight might be a good idea. An area like Divinity’s Reach with bridges, choke points and hollow buildings on which you can build seige but not block the doorway. Thoughts?

Yeah there really needs to be some variety in them there borderlands. A random rotating central map would be pretty sweet as well. TBH all of the maps, if there was say 3 or 4 of them, on a random rotation with the match up switch ups….sah-weet! imo.

Urban would be cool. Man a rata run type would be nuts.

One thing there needs to be an end to though IMO is the what I would call wasted space a la borderlands. Too many open spaces that really nobody goes to unless you’re traveling or (for whatever reason) pve’ing.

I think we need more space and more objectives to bust up the zerg mentality/control. I think this is also unrealistic hoping since anet does not consider wvwvw pvp.

I like this idea.

Furthermore I’m happy with a new map so long as it is integrated into the current system somehow. JPs have been separated from the major aspects of WvW which is a mistake as it causes unnecessary conflict within a server.

So long as any system integrates itself and enhances the WvW experience, I’m all for it.

A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

With the way WvW works we have more than enough maps… However, I would love to see them make each one of them unique overtime. Add a city map and replace one of the current borderlands and then add something else for the third map, maby some crazy versicle map or floating island area.

How about a WvW map that also features a large portion underground? They’d be able to add destroyers to the map as enemies, destroyer related events, there could be skritt, dredge, etc.

And of course a multi-layered map featuring two or three different “levels” of height. Bottom of the cave, mid level and above ground section. Would require more tactics and at the same time would give more room for smaller parties to do stuff as its a bit harder to figure out where the damage is being done.

I’d like a big WvW map in a similar style as Rata Sum and the Fractals of the Mists Asura map. You’d be able to have several layers, rather than just the top layer with the occasional cave or pool of water to swim in.

I do not think more maps will solve WvWvW. On the lower pop servers Borderlands sometimes are completely empty. Even on high pop servers Borderlands are second priority. Adding yet ANOTHER map into the mix is too much of a strain on the attention of servers.

i honestly think the maps should be a little larger. EB is so small that every one can stay in 1 or 2 big zergs go on the offensive and still have plenty of time to get back to a tower if it is being hit. to defend it. i think larger maps would break up the zergs into small groups of 15 to 20 and prbly even 5 to 10 for supply camps. these are the fights that are the most fun imo.

They need to add map rotation into WvW like they do for sPvP. Fighting on the same 2 maps week after week after week after week will eventually get boring. Basically, keep the same format of 3 borderlands and Eternal, but have different map rotations for each of those zones.
