So with this new “more powerful” ascended gear being introduced, I really hope they don’t let it create an even bigger gear divide in wvw. In my opinion they have two options:

- Make it purchasable with badges.
- Disable the extra stats in WvW.

Thoughts?

Gear divide? I crafted full exotic armor days after I hit 80. :/

Another possibility is that the extra stats are just PvE only (e.g. this “infusion” slot being something like +10% damage to mobs)

Could I get a link? I haven’t heard of this yet.

I’d also like to point out that there is hardly a gear divide. Upon hitting lv80, the masterwork gear, 30s for a whole set, will do. Anyone can get these. Rare, less than 3g for a set, is mostly identical to Exotics except for a small insignificant difference in stats.

Now if you are referring to the gear divide between a lv10 and a lv80, that’s a different story. Still not a gear divide though.

Thank You. I should probably look into other forums before asking questions.

For now, just no one jump to conclusions. Anet has never been about this kind of thing, and I doubt they will ever be. Leave the “Game will Die” speeches for the 15th, and if our fears come to pass, become one of the many that will be out-spoken about it.

I’ve been playing since the head start and it took me 2 ½ months to finally get my 80 into full exotics. I simply will not play a game with another endless grind to upgrade gear every few months.

Also, did I miss it or is WvW getting absolutely nothing in this new content patch?

With the statement about 200 crafting recipes added as well on the 15th, let’s hope it is attainable in the same way as other exotic crafted gear or it’ll wreak havoc on the WvW server competition for a few weeks…it probably will anyways since people will need to PvE (Lost Shores dungeon) instead of WvW to get the gear.

I highly doubt it’ll drop in WvW or be listed on the WvW vendors through badges.

Many people will embrace this concept despite the fact some of you, rather selfishly I might add, can’t see it’s better for the lifespan of the game.

GW1 begs to differ.
