Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, looking for some input on a server to start a guild on. I’m on SBI right now and there doesn’t feel like there is much room to start anything on. And the population has dropped as I’m sure all servers have dropped a bit. Wanting to run 9pm-1am PST 30-40man zergs bigger works too. 5-10 man roaming in the off time..Been looking at BG and TC and DB or even staying on SBI. Just looking for some information on the servers status right now and any recommendations.

Fort Aspenwood is able to pull together 30-40 man zergs on EBG during that hour with someone who can consistently tag in EBG. We usually go up against a larger TC force that can split into two separate zergs and an SoS zerg later that grows in intensity due to their status as an OCX server.

TC can dominate during those hours so I’m unsure why you think they’d be a good fit unless you like to PvD.

Thanks for the reply. Honestly heard some crappy stuff about tier2 and now thinking of staying away from it for now. Been leaning to DB side as a growing server. That or trying to get into YB or JQ. But SBI feels dead in the times I’m around

The reason why SBI feels dead is because we’re a militia/pug and PvX based server. We have very few WvW only guilds and the ones we had have left in search of more populated maps.

Dragonbrand has clearly gotten transfers, VP rolls 25 to 30 deep and it’s verry difficult to fight a 30 man guild group if you’ve got militia and pugs running around doing whatever.

If you’re a patient person I would suggest waiting around, or helping one of the many guilds on SBI that are working at getting groups together to WvW with, otherwise spend your gems and go to a server that’s tier 2 or higher.

I can tell you that as a long time WvW player that transferring to servers is usually a temporary solution. Dragon Brand has had several uprisings, and they currently out populate SBI and Maguuma most of the time. You’re going to have a hard time finding groups to fight outside of NA primetime, but if you like to karma train and flip empty keeps it’s probably a good place to go.

JQ has blobs for days, so Yaks, or BG would be better choices if you want fights. JQ has better coverage than both Yaks and BG. If you are a ppt guild Yaks is renowned for embracing the ppt game. If you want 24/7 k-train go JQ.

JQ is clearly the strongest server in that time frame most of the time. They end up running a lot of PvD during that time though. YB has a medium to small group running then which keeps the PPT up. BG is very inconsistent these days but mostly they avoid JQ and hit YB whenever JQ and YB start going at it.

All servers and tiers are going to have their strengths and flaws. Situations change relatively fast. Have you considered looking at streams?

If the rumors are true and the get rid of servers, then you’ll have wasted your money transferring.
