So I heard that winning in WvW was a good way to make gold. Since I am going to be focusing more on PvP I was wondering which server is the best WvW server atm? It seems Blackgate is overall number one, but I’ve been hearing otherwise? Can someone clear up this confusion of which server is best for WvW?

Whoever told you playing WvW is a good way to make gold is lieing to you. You will make more gold in EoTM and much more in PvE. Blackgate is the strongest server in NA at present and I believe SFR is the strongest in EU.

I appreciate your response, Hmm. I will find where I read it again, but my main focus is PvP I guess so if it will be fun to be part of these servers I gotta go there anyways I guess I appreciate your response. Thanks alot

Making money in WvW is similar to getting blood from a stone… Even when you’re winning. However, winning will give you more gold than losing (from the bonus chests every week).

BG is the number one server (NA), however if you actually to want PvP it might be worth looking at either a t2 server or a t3 server. Since you’ll have smaller Q’s, usually a friendlier community, and more of an opportunity for Roaming. However if you’ve decided you like EoTM then ultimately going BG is your best bet.

Any of the T1 servers in NA would be fine (I’m not familiar with EU). Winning amounts to 1 extra chest or greens/blues per week over second place, or 2 extra chests over 3rd. The chances of you even getting a rare item out of that 1-2 chests is tiny, let alone any item that is decent or worth any money.

I don’t know where this obsession with queues is coming from, and I’ve seen people posting things about hundreds or thousands in the T1 queues…. which is absurd. BG would have the worst queues, but outside of the first few hours after reset queues are pretty small, and generally only happen if there’s a commander with a great run going or something like garrison/EB keep is desperate for defenders.

want to make gold ? run dungeons. at mediocare rate, you’ll get 12g for 2 hours playing them.

2 hours in WvW will not get you as much.

If you play from North America, don’t come to Blackgate. Our competitors could use more people.

WvW is a gold sink, not a gold maker. Good luck where ever you go

well doing actual PvP isn’t half bad way for loots and coinage, rated that is. and it’s fun.
