Newbie help, please!
Hello? I don’t know where else to ask.
I don’t understand, 24 views on this post and no one has any idea how I can begin leveling in WvW as a level 2?
Seriously, wtf, 30..why?
Pick a server (doesn’t really matter which one, you can transfer free if you don’t like it)
Create a character, any race or profession is fine just go with something you want to play.
Enter the game, do the first event/Quest line (you have to complete this as its basically the tutorial).
Once finished push (I think the default is “B”) Click the top where it says go to World vs. World.
Choose your home server borderland to start. Look for a blue triangle on the map
Get to the blue triangle and follow him/her.
This will give you a taste of what WvW is, once your comfortable do whatever you find enjoyable, following the zerg taking towers, keeps, supply camps nets you good xp.
Just keep in mind, although you will be bolstered to 80, a higher level will have better stats, so don’t expect to jump in and start owning 80’s
Thanks guysI don’t understsand why over 25 people viewed this thread and didn’t answer.
Also, I tried joining a wvw and I had only my level 2 abilities.
Why is this?
WvW will not bolster more abilities, SPvP gives you all abilities but rewards no xp. So if your looking for PvP and XP WvW is the only route.
As you level you will get more abilities, this is why I said although your bolstered an 80 will preform better 9/10 times. But that doesn’t mean you can’t do it, I’ve seen low levels kill 80’s in WvW. Once you hit 30 you will have a full skill bar.
Because the other 24 people thought this was a troll thread.

Thank you nutz.
Ktith, not sure how this could be a troll thread.
If it was a troll thread, it was a bad one. Also if you checked his/her post history you would see why it seemed like a legit question.
To get your basic abilities, just kill things (players or mobs) and you’ll get your basic attack skills. So, say you have a greatsword; just kill things with the greatsword and you’ll eventually get all the moves for that. Same goes for underwater weapons. Just remember that weapons are limited to what class you have. Greatsword, for example, is limited to Guardian, Warrior, Ranger and Mesmer.
Your Utility skills(is that what they’re called?), 6-0 on the action bar, require skills points. You get those from leveling up and doing skill point challenges (blue arrow icons on map). This involves killing something or just hitting a key and communing with it.

Even a brand new character can make a huge difference if they are carrying supply. Jump in, and stay with a large group. Read chat, all of them, and learn. Play support until you feel you have a clue what is going on. Don’t buy or place siege until you know what each do and where to put them, but help build with the supply you carry. Best way to learn siege is by refreshing equipment that has already been dropped. That means: go into a tower or keep that your team already owns and go ahead and mess with stuff. You can’t break something you already own. Siege equipment despawns if not used, so noodling with it is a benefit to your team and a learning process for you.
Hey mate
On our server we put together a basic WvW guild:

Good luck!

You’re dumb. You’ll die, and you’ll leave a dumb corpse
It can be a good idea to get to level 10 or 11 in PvE before going to WvW. Then you get weapon swap and 2 utility skills.
It only takes a few hours in PvE and is worth it for your survivability.
The single best thing you can do (IMHO) while leveling in WvW: keep your gear up-to-date! Buy masterwork (green) armor/weapons/accessories from the Trading Post every 5 or 6 levels. It’s incredibly affordable, although making any kind of money in WvW is challenging at best.
