Is there any particular reason for this? I honestly can’t think of one.

One is a money/karma sink and the other is a time sink, both need to be done as a part of a server’s wvw effort.

Probably because they don’t want random people just queuing things without reason other then they want the XP. Just the way I see it…

I think they want people queue’ing and playing regardless of their reasoning.

Because if it did, it will get exploited just like before.

Maybe but like a lot of the little annoyances I could see it as something people would complain about, But on the flip side it would start “pugs” queuing stuff and saving the WvW’ers some coin.

Should be added for escorting, I agree. But not purchasing upgrades.

It got botted before which is why they won’t think of putting it back, as it’s easier by far than coding in a bot checker or placing a restriction on the number of times you could do it in any 24 hour period.

Of course escorting dolyaks is an important part of Wvw, as is paying for upgrades, but as it doesn’t involve zergs killing zergs it won’t get rewarded properly and people won’t do it (or very few will bother).

With the change in catapults there is even less reason to upgrade keeps as they will flip in even less time so it’s going to get even more karma train/zerg like – but that seems to be what they want anyway, as they sure don’t want to encourage diversity judging by the new Wexp character bound system.

I’ve gotten gold on escorting a dolyak by just standing next to it for like 30 seconds, so it could be easily exploited.

They turned off the karma/XP/coin rewards for the Dolyak escorts after release because of how badly it was being exploited, this would be the same.
