It seems, A-Net has no love for Abaddon’s Mouth (DE, on EU servers), or just forget them.

Abaddon’s Mouth is not linked with another server and is playing against servers that are linked with other servers, but were already (before they were linked with others) higher ranked than Abaddon’s Mouth .

As a result, the few remainings players of Abaddon’s Mouth play with a grim sense of humor because they are rolled over by the big blobs of the other servers again and again and again and do not have a remote chance of winning.

On the positive side: Abaddon’s Mouth does not have wait queues anymore, not even in prime time and even has the [Outnumbered] buff at a lot of times.

Maybe A-Net should re-think about how they link servers together.

I think it was stated that the matchup system might take a few weeks to adjust. I feel for you guys. Hang in there!

Quite a lot of German servers are losing ranking heavily atm. Not sure why exactly.

Since this is all beta, there is possibility for Anet to relink servers when needed. Would it be better if 4 non-linked german servers would be combined into 1? Because we still need to be able to divide total servers into tiers of 3. Other solution would be splitting up 3 of those tier 1 overpopulated servers.

One word: Drama
German Servers do like their infernal Drama, we have 2 TS Servers, some players come along quite nicely, others need to reenact game of Thrones, with out the sex that is

Due to linking of course:
German Server are now 6 of 7 i.e. mean Manpower is now 116% of former 100% before linking
Spanish-Server 1 from 1, i.e. mean Manpower remains at 100%
French-Server are now 3 of 5, i.e. mean Manpower is now 166%
English-Server 8 of 14, i.e. mean Manpower is now 166%

So while Enlish and French server got a mean-boost of 50% by linking, Spanish and German more or less remained the same.

Of course this is not true. Different servers have very different WvW populations so merging RoS and Vabbi (for example) into their respective alliances did not come anywhere near to doubling their manpower!

Still Abaddon and Dzagonur did do really badly out of the change. The difficulty was keeping a multiple of 3 servers in EU while only pairing servers. Still, it is a beta. Hopefully they will fix this somehow!

To Dayra: That is not completely true since none of the servers was linked to the equally populated server. Last servers that were linked had much less players left so combined servers are not now twice the size. They are of course now boosted, no arguing about that, just not by that much.

In case of my own server, I would imagine FoW is maybe about 25-30% the population of GH.

It depends on the server too, adding fairly empty server like Vabbi to top tier 1 like Deso has no real effect on the combined strength while combined strength of RoF+WSR is perhaps nearly double their separate strength.

And yet, sure, we can assume combined English servers are now performing better due to more players, even when new players are not that many. Again, would it help if some German server were combined? Now is the time to give feedback so Anet can adjust it during the beta.

Badly ie the same. You do realize that before the merge Abba was totally dead primetime and daytime? They had near zero coverage. No more glory days. They only kept afloat (and won) on a very, very dedicated nightcrew.

That’s fair enough, but there were other servers with very little coverage and that’s what alliances were supposed to help with. I think there is little doubt, given their position in the table, they would have been paired up but for the need to keep a multiple of 3 servers and their decision to only link 2 servers at this time.
