No title if I miss a week for vacation?
I don’t even have words for this. Your entitlement is absolutely stunning. Life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to, and you should just accept that you aren’t going to be handed this title in accordance with whatever schedule you’re on. If you want the title this badly, you should find time to play during your vacation. If not, tough luck. Lots of people in GW2 “go without” and don’t get the things they want because that’s just how it is. Nobody deserves to have anything handed to them and it is absurd that you would expect ANet to cater just to you. What about people who are on vacation for two weeks out of the four, should we reduce the requirement to two weeks? What about people who are on an entire month long vacation? Maybe we should just give out the title and max tickets to everyone so it’s “fair”. Ugh. Sickening.

You should as well. he isn’t wrong.
guild wars 2 is a game and life goes on.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.

Where did I imply he was wrong? He said it in an extremely nasty and immature way. He needs to take a nap.

“Take a nap” can be interpreted into a lot of things. If that was what you meant, I am sorry.
With that said, sometimes you have to be blunt. People are used to be treated like they are special snowflakes on gaming forums.

I think I wasn’t mad and wasn’t complaining, just simply pointed out an issue what affects me personaly. Probably it won’t change anything, but I just felt like to share my point of view on this issue. That’s it, no need to agree on that or anything.
So far Anet made absolutely cool decisions on how to makte achievements and titles not sticked to a single time period, like they did it with their second season of the Living Story. I think it was their interest too to allow people to enjoy the game when they have time for that. I know PvE and a WvW tournament are completely different things, but it wouldn’t hurt anyone if they just think about it. It might won’t change for this season, but it can help maybe for a future one. There’s nothing wrong with sharing these kind of issues, in fact it should help them.
Oh and the last two lines were a joke…
Sure enough, I’m on vacation too, for 2 weeks. Oh well…
I’ll be off in Japan for 2 weeks as well…
Seems they changed their minds re: allowing people to get the achievements (and WvW league rewards) whenever they want.
Just a side note though, your analogy makes no sense. Players who miss a matchup don’t get a medal. In fact they’re entirely disqualified from the tournaments, most of the time.
It would have been nice if they announced these some time earlier before all the arrangements are already made and cast in stone, however.
I’ll actually miss out on two weeks worth of rewards even though I’ll only be away for one week. My business trip happens to go from a Friday (9 hours before reset) to the next Friday (only a couple hours after reset). That means that not only will I not earn tickets for a week of playing—which I’m okay with, albeit disappointed I won’t get the title—but I also won’t be able to pick up the tickets I earned the previous week before they expire! I’ll wind up getting two weeks of rewards even though I’ll be playing three weeks of WvW. I really don’t see why the rewards can’t just add up and why we’re only allowed one week to claim past rewards.

most people make arrangements for vacations between 3 and 5 months in advance…. Do you expect arena net to actually bother to announce this stuff that far in advance then work hard to keep the hype up for up to 5 months?
that is ridiculous.
Currently @ some T1 server in EU
They should have instead made two ways to get the title: satisfy each week’s meta or satisfy the entire season’s meta.
BUT
They should make the entire season’s meta much more stuff so that most people will get it by just satisfying each week.
I disagree. I like it as it is. It is unfortunate that you couldn’t fulfill the requirements to get what you want, but If I do not log in during a PvP tournament, Halloween, Christmas, and so on for the events, should they reschedule the PvP tournament, or extend the holiday events simply because I had other plans?
