Congratulations on another job well done Blackgate!

You all came together to not do WvW for a couple weeks, lowering your WvW activity, abusing the population ranking system in order to open up your server to more bandwagoners!

We lost quite a lot of guilds over the last 2-3 months. Had to replace them somehow. ;-)

Wow arenanet you’ve really dropped the ball on this one, allowing a server to clearly game the system. Well done, BG will now dominate T1 NA. You should have reviewed your system when it became obvious thats what they were doing, its even been talked about here so ignorance is no excuse.

I’m from BG and we have push weeks where we will dominate the ppt. but overall BG at least my guild is very zvz focused. The server as a whole likes fights over caps of towers/keeps. For a roamer on non push weeks would see lots of action however tier 1 i would’t normally suggest (if thats your play style) but then again those new bl maps make any tier roaming friendly.
I come from tier 2/3 and I personally love it usually a lot of action.

For those that think BG is abusing the population it’s not intentional. Like I said before we have push weeks where we maintain ppt and have a zerg throughout the day to cap stuff and hold. This week happens to not be a push week since launch of expansion. For as long as I’ve been on BG(6+ months) its been like this we push hard 1 week than take a break to avoid burn out.

You may not be in the know, but BG was in fact doing a blackout. It was done for 3-4 weeks prior to HoT launch, and they’ve successfully gamed the system once again. This is the server that a month ago capable of queuing all 4 maps on reset nights and 3 maps over weekends. Compared to the other servers in T1 only queuing 1-2 maps at best.

Let the stacking begin I suppose. Anet, you should never rely on programming to determine server activities. Because gamers are always smarter than your codes. If you guys would just have devs that play WvW on a regular basis then you would know the situation of these servers. Heck I was advocating for all servers to come off Full status when HoT launches so it’ll at least be fair to let people play wherever they want to play. Seeing how the new desert borderland maps are so huge it’ll take 3 map blobs to make these maps feel “alive”.

You’re wrong, what BG is doing is widely known. The fact is they have been conducting a blackout for a month now and it clearly works. And it shows other servers what to do to game the system.

You don’t go to kitten roam, you go to T1 for population and larger fights.

I think you guys are also forgetting BG has always been more PvE oriented, everytime new PvE is added, our WvW population suffers. BG guilds that have been here for a while understand that, and adapt to it.
Our guild is WvW focused, but for the past week, we’ve raided maybe 3 times? Less? With far more time invested into HoT, getting masteries, getting achieves, and all in all, taking a break from WvW before we push again.

At the very least, I know my current guild, and my old guild, are always pushing, even on break weeks. But at the same time, 3 years of the same maps, the same people, etc. takes a toll.

That’s what happens on every server in EU T1 or NA T1. I can confirm this for desolation, sfr, JQ and good ol’ days SoR.

and everybody in NA tier 1&2 knows that BG is often hibernating to get transfers or appear weak in numbers. It happened before seasons, it happened two years ago and it happened before HoT.

BG have been quite deliberately doing it for a month before HOT. It was well before the new content.

It never ceases to amaze me how non-BG players come up with constant conspiracy theories. There may be nuggets of truth hidden here and there but I bet the constant complaints about BG are mostly driven by the fact that when BG wants to win, they usually can win. Organization, discipline, and a drive to find the best strategies is why BG wins, not these silly conspiracy theories. BG has suffered at times because people burn out and quit, that is why there are hibernations and weakness.

Its been admitted by BG guilds and players that it is what they are doing. Yes BG is organised and disciplined this is exactly why they are able to pull off something like this which requires the discipline to implement a greatly reduced presence in WvW for at least a month.

I guess JQ and YB are as disciplined since they went to Very High at the same exact time.

JQ didn’t, for most of the last 2 days its been full except for small periods of time, overall it is still full, unless its changed in the last 12 hours.

Regardless it really doesn’t matter none of T1 servers should be off full ATM under anets current scheme, and I’m on JQ but servers shouldn’t be able to game the system to create imbalances which is what going to occur. Either open all servers or they all stay closed.

It was Very High yesterday two of my friends transferred there in the late afternoon of EST.

And either way it was bound to happen. Especially with HoT and everyone PvE’ing for elite specs, for guild halls just to upgrade camps and the general dislike of the new borderland by a lot of commanders.

And then it went back to full I know because I checked after someone stated it was open.

Never denied that it went back to full I’m saying it was open and for a good amount of time like the other servers including YB and TC.

Either way a good majority of BG isn’t playing due a dislike of the map and not wanting to play without being able to claim locations. We did get fights yesterday thank Buddha.

BG and YB have been open continuously for the last 2 days. JQ and SOS and FA have been closed for much of the same time so there is really no comparison.

if i wasn’t already in the most dominating na server i would’ve gone to bg. we got bigger na force than bg. yb forever! … until we can no longer outnumber other servers in my time zone.

BG is rampaging in NA prime for the last two nights. I don’t mean just winning…. I mean flattening everything. Last time I logged in they were ticking well over 450 and this is on a reset night. Their score is already nearing the combined scores of JQ and YB.

As for YB, the place is a ghost town most of the time. I think if YB fell down into T2 it would get its clock cleaned with its current population level. Most of the day you couldn’t scratch together double digit numbers on EBG.
