THE OFFICIAL WvW SERVER FOR _____________

Of course there are really no official servers for anything per se. But just as some server communities such as TC deserve the status for being the unofficial role playing central, so are other server communities known for or are deserving of certain “titles”.

So! I’m thinking we can get some nominations for a general consensus on what the servers should be known for in WvW! Any one have suggestions on which server should for example be designated as the “Unofficial WVW Ranger Server” or the “Unofficial Havoc specialist Server”, I’ve heard of a “Yak Parade Server” but i’m sure its just a rumor so lets try to keep this light hearted and clean!

I nominate:
- Vizunah: as ranger server
- Jade sea: as suicide server (because of an amazing amount of failed portal bombs)
- Aurora Glade: as role playing server (for EU that is)
—> not sure on this one ofcourse, but I have seen a lot of events held on this one.
- Gunnars Hold: as golem server (golems hold)
--> AG does compete with you guys, definitely after that 650 omegas in 1 week event.

BG is definitely the overtime server. Nobody can outdo the dedication some of those guys have and I’ve seen them do some incredibly long hours which are actually rather unhealthy but they did it for the win and usually get it.

SoR was the most organized server up until leagues. Now I’m not sure.

JQ is the home of the pug heroes. While you will certainly see good sized guild groups, most of the time said guild groups are bolstered heavily by random militia. If two zergs are facing each other, JQ will have 30 or so in one guild and 30 militia. The enemy zerg will have 40-45 guild and remainder militia. I also can’t begin to even count the amount of times I’ve seen completely uncoordinated (no TS) groups of random people on JQ take out superior numbers. I distinctly recall one instance where 15 random JQs with maybe 5 in TS and no commander fought off an almost entirely guild group twice their size. It was amazing.

TC is the let me hug you then I’ll stab you then we can hug again then maybe I’ll stab you again server. It has some of the nicest people who will, at the first sign of kitten ery, drop what they are doing and play along. It also has just as many people, sometimes overlapping with the previously mentioned subset of population, that will try to beat the living crap out of you on sight and are more than capable of doing so.

I suspect it was partially due to a lack of guild suppor that the server had at that time but on every level of the game SoS players would just melt at the tiniest push. The server has changed a lot though so I suspect thats not valid anymore.

Mag used to not be a zerg-blob server, but after they fell to 7th they changed. Now they PPT way more than fight for fights.

They outnumbered us during late night, and would send a ten golem attack on hills, bay, and garrison. They are now one of the true PPT heroes in this game.

They do talk a lot, but they do have some seriously talented guilds.

well maybe its just me but there seems to be (or there was a few weeks ago) a large unbalance in the amount of perplex condi builds compared to everything else.. specifically engis..

E Bay- Okay we have this keep now what do we do? server (Needs momentum)
Ferg’s Crossing- I’ll 5 man your 15 man zerg buddy…. bring it. server (Duelists)
Sorrow’s Furnace- You may have won this fight but we’ll come back with even more people this time. server (Needs an overwhelming number of people to fight even small groups)
FA- The fly you fools. server (ENEMIES! Back to the tower boys!)
JQ- The orderly retreat. server (Skirmishers)

This is just my personal experience with each of these servers. FC is my home server.

Dh – has a billion BR, but I hear it’s somehow not the unofficial BR server? I think it is, but w/e. We’re definitely the unofficial bestest server of all time, forever and ever, though. That much I’m certain of.

SF – Has many latin players from what I can tell. Also unofficial zerg server (couldn’t help it, soz).

FC – Unofficial bronze duelist server.

Only bronze servers that seem to have anything standoutish about them.

Even as a backhanded compliment, that is the nicest thing anybody has said about BG on this board. (And no, it wasn’t necessarily healthy.)

Well it wasn’t really meant as a backhanded compliment. It takes an extra level of gumption, for lack of a better word, to tough something like that out in anything. I’ve got plenty of friends on BG, friends who were on BG and most of [Att] the Wurm guild is from BG and I hang out with them twice a week.

Then I’ll take that as a real compliment and thank you for all the players on BG who did put in those extra hours and had the extra gumption (that’s a great word to use), to tough it out, not (just) for themselves, but for the rest of their community.

I know there are plenty of other servers that same compliment fits as well.

Mag is the server that will go to T1 while grumbling and whining about zerging/ppt kitten/tower hugging. I’m not sure if they realize that they’ve climbed all the way to T2 by doing the things I’ve just mentioned…

I’d like to change Golems/Banners Hold into Golems/Banners Handhold, due to the immense difficulty one has to take to find a Guild not running a meter from another one, and the equal rarity of finishing a fight against one (often outnumbered already) without another crashes into you.

@Andrew – You know why mag PPTd in T3, we didn’t want to be there. Now that we are at T2, theres been tons of good fights, multiple GvGs and the ppt play has died down plenty.

Heck, yesterday i lead a Pug vs Pug scrimmage, out of the blue against SoS. Early on the week! If i ever did that back on my former server I’d get yelled at for not playing ppt

Seafarer’s Rest aka Stacker’s Rest = official superstacked server of EU. Queue most of the time. Lots of Russians!
Vizunah Square aka Zombieland = They never sleep. They never fully die. They always hunger for you. A typical VS roaming team is 25 players.
Riverside aka Rivercart = Official arrowcart server of EU.
Elona Reach aka Heavy Reach = official server of heavy armored warriors and guardians. Loves siege. I think all German’s do!
Jade Sea aka Zombie Sea = Another French zombie horde. Similar to Vizunah in many ways.
Kodash aka Blob or Roam = Either massive blob with golems + siege or small roaming team, never anything between. Loves siege.
Baruch Bay aka Elementalist Bay = Spanish server famous in the old time for abusing tons of D/D eles synced and portal bombed. I haven’t fought against them recently, so this is an old comment
Piken Square aka Guild Square = guild-heavy role-playing server, not famous for PuG action. Loves open field combat more than anything
Desolation aka Tankalation = Unofficial pve and pvp capital of EU. Almost always outnumbered, thus the name. Ex tier 1 server, seriously lacking players. Plays for points/win more seriously than other medium rank servers
Drakkar Lake aka Blobbing lake = Yet another blobbing server
Abaddon’s Mouth aka Blobbadon’s Mouth = official EU server for massive server wide blobs. Average size for roaming party is 30.
Gandara aka Gank-ara = official gankers’ server in EU. A typical Gandara player and his buddies can wait 20 minutes near a flipped sentry to ambush a solo enemy player. Most Gandara players run a gank build, besides few guilds. Could be in TOP8 if they would play for the points.
Gunnar’s Hold aka Golem’s Hold or Ganker’s Hold = Official golem rush server. A wannabe copycat of Gandara when it comes to ganking.

I’m from FC and I actually have to agree with this. Yeah, we have a couple of strong players at least by my standards. However for the most part the skill level is the same when it comes to roaming. If it was like NSP talking about roaming then I’d understand.

More like anyone above has more people that play for fights.

The closest thing I’ve ever seen to a for fights server was SoR right at their fall when they didn’t even show up on reset night and basically had like 1 camp the entire night because all the guilds were off in eotm…. weeks after eotm came out. The other servers I’ve faced (BG/TC/SoS/FA/Mag) don’t fit the definition.

Like it or not the only fight centric server has been mag, and possibly FA. Just take a look back, mag never ppt’d hard to win, and when season 1 was announced they went all tryhard to get into gold league, fully knowing they dont have the coverage but its where the fights are at.

After S1 they didnt care about score again, even sbi and yb beat them score wise at one point. They hated T3, “season 2” was just announced and they decided to ppt again to secure their spot in higher tiers.

That was all before i got to move here, fyi. So its an outsiders PoV. As of right now, Tier 2 is quite fight centric with a lot of top guilds of NA servers altogether.

Tl;Dr Mag has been fight centric for the longest time and hasn’t imploded.

Sadly roaming in FC is somewhat dead, atm EBay has lost all glory I once saw when I was up in BP fighting you guys. So far the only legit decent group i see is the mass of BSty +NA+AD group I see run around actually take stuff, until SF shows up and people disappear. I wish you all luck on your way to t7 or t8. FC is the perplex everything server. They all believe they are top notch at roaming because of it too.

So true. Made me laugh cus it’s soooo spot on. I love FC, don’t get me wrong… but they spam a lot of super cheesy builds (that usually involve plex), then get it in their head that they’re better skill-wise than everyone else by a country mile.
