Guild Wars 2

I know that being green gives you an advantage because you are in the top server for your tier. For awhile, it seemed to me that didn’t matter so much. On my server, mostly red, I could join an EotM match and it would be fun, fast, and profitable. It seemed that way too when I was blue and green. This seemed to be the status quo for awhile.

Lately tho, this not the case. OG zergs are huge and split over the map. They actively hunt our zergs not allowing us to stray too far from the safe WP. I know that this is “war”, and that nothing needs to be fair in “war”. I also realize that being green is fun and there would be little complaining from a player in the green tier. There has been a few times that our server was green recently and i can honestly say that our zerg was not hunting and we would go out of our way and let another zerg flip something and then come back after they have left.

For the last couple of weeks it has been miserable in EotM. OG zergs steamroll everything, FR defending their keeps (seriously – what’s the point of logging in for hours just to stay in one place waiting??) Our commanders usually quit after a point and then we drop to Outnumbered very quickly. New players coming in, quickly leave after seeing no tag and a mostly green map. Players give up and leaving for something else should be at least a moderate sign that something is broken.

Maybe it’s just dumb luck. Maybe it’s the norm for everyone else. I tend to log in at very specific times, usually towards the end of a match and the beginning of the next. From chat, it seems that I am far from the only one noticing the one-sided dominance of OG. If other EotM matches are not like this, I would like to know how I don’t get assigned to those and why for the past few weeks I’m assigned to this mess.

I don’t play normal WvW because hardly anyone else does on our server. I went to EB to check it out – we we’re winning. Once in EB, I saw that we were not Outnumbered – that’s reassuring. I found our massive zerg of five players and watched as they PvD. They tried to build a ram, but not enough supply, so thankfully one had a golem to speed things up. I left after that.

WvW is one of my favorite game modes, but lately it sucks if your are not green. That alone should show that things are broken. It may not be for everyone, but for me and a lot of players, both red and blue who log in at specific times this is the case. Please ANET look into this problem and address it.

So you left regular WvW because the pvd was boring, but you complain about people defending in eotm?

I may be the odd ball here but I still think it’s odd that people in the same guild can be on different teams. A few times I’ve seen matching guild tags in enemy zergs who just happen to pass by us so they can cap behind us and we cap where they came from, and other times it just so happens we run into a matching tag zerg only to have our commander snake out beforehand and either wp or de-tag and boom most of the zerg gets wiped like it was pre-planned. Other times I’ve heard our people complain about enemies knowing their positions or their directions like they were psychic.

Maybe it has to do with numbers, too large a guild gets split up I dunno I haven’t been playing long enough to know the details, but it just strikes me funny, then again most people feel like this is eotm so what who cares right.

On a side note, maybe this is dumb but when a npc is freshly killed and has RI it would be awesome if during the time they had RI they acted as a temp. merchant so we could sell our crap, just throwing it out there.
