I am an aspiring commander and don’t want to grind/ask for donations to buy this title. And was thinking, how about being able to Obtain the title. But this title would not be in the slightest easy to get. Maybe level 50-100, it would require alot of dedication to WvW. Therefor earning the title.

Honestly, just farm it if you really want it. Heck by the time you reached rank 59 you prbl made enough g to just buy it.

I believe a friend of mine once suggested having the title available for blahblah amount of Badges.

badges and wvwwvw achivements are like farming at this moment. Yes the player contribue more to the team by following the zerg, but how would an that be fair.
take in comparation that an tier 8 player maybe frag 30 kills /day and an tier 1 maybe frag1500 kills.

It costs gold because it is useable in PvE land and even sPvP. Since its intended use is both for WvW and PvE, the only currency that the two share is gold. At this stage in the game, 100g is nothing. I have 50g in the past week from playing ONLY WvW. No dungeons or anything else. Just farm the gold. If it costs badges, too many people would have it. I got 1300 badges in the past week from kills and rank is even easier to get than badges.

Thing is they want you to show dedication to get the commander title. WvW ranks you just get them as you play, it’s not something you can spend on something else like gold. If you put commander on rank 50-100 what will happen in 2-3 months? Good luck at organizing a frontier with 40 commanders running around

If they make an alternate commander title for WvW then I want my 100g back. Stop the QQ, it ain’t going to change. Badges are another currency like gold. If it was worth badges, then the people grinding the jump puzzle could get the compendium that way. If were to be through ranks, what will you do with the people who already purchased their compendium? Provide a valid argument as to why this change would be beneficial along with a compensation for those who have purchased a compendium.

The way I see it, if you tossed 100g on the book, you by all means have the right to use it. Sure you may suck, and people may complain and say they could do better, but do you see them doing it? Usually you don’t. If people really want the command title it should be bought. 100g is a pretty large bag of change. A command title is basically a waste of that gold and not many players do so.
