A Message from the WvW Team
Hello Everyone!
We are starting to see a lot of feedback threads pop-up and the WvW team appreciates everyone who has taken the time to write up feedback and create threads. To help organize ideas into one place (this helps devs a lot) we are going to start creating threads on specific topics. Feel free to create your own threads as well, but if you have feedback on a specific topic for which we have created an official thread—like this one—I encourage you to post in that thread.
The cadence and topics for these threads will vary depending on a particular release date. For example we will be posting a Desert Borderlands map feedback thread, but we want to give everyone a little more time to play before creating that thread. There also will be threads coming that will allow the community to make suggestions on what they want the team to be working on going forward.
The first topic, as you probably guessed from the title, is WvW Reward Tracks! Here are a few questions:
Feel free to post anything reward-track related in this thread!
The reward track seems to be well paced to participating when you engage the enemy or ppt. Though I did see something that may (or may not) be a bug.
In EB outside Aldons our dolly was getting hit by some bats. I killed the bats and escorted the dolly the rest of the way to the keep. Because I had only been standing in the keeps refreshing siege, my participation bar was reducing. Neither refreshing siege or defending the dolly stopped the reducing participation.
Not a big deal, but I was a bit surprised that defending our supplies (even from a mediocre npc) didn’t at least stop the reduction of participation.
1. I, personally, love the addition of the tracks. Was a long overdue addition, and I’m glad it finally made it in.
2. I haven’t paid too much attention to the actual participation rates to comment on this. I usually just zone out and cap camps ahead of my commanders or focus on keeping yaks from getting to places they really shouldn’t be(enemy fire keep on home BL, I’m looking at you.)
3. At the moment I don’t mind the rate that we get the points. I wouldn’t say no to increasing the total points you can get per tick though
4. I enjoy that we can have access to all the dungeon and map tracks. It’ll help people gear up and/or get things like sand for that darn sandpaper toward guild hall upgrades without being forced into PvE maps to possibly do something we don’t enjoy.
5. I haven’t looked too much at the triumphant reward track so I don’t know specifically what it offers, but I would like to see a reward track that would offer siege, supply traps, siege disables, stealth traps, and MAYBE (if we wanna get crazy) communal trays of commonly used WvW raid food. Saffron bread and Seaweed salad are the first ones that come to mind.

1. So far I’m quite impressed with the reward track system, However I would like to see these Tracks have more of a WvW theme (adding more WvW specific Tracks).
2+3. The participation/Track Progression for these seem quite fair, however I have heard (haven’t tried it myself as of yet) that these rewards can essentially be AFK’d. I feel this will need to be fixed if it is currently possible to do, as this may lead to people afking and taking up queue slots while not contributing to the matchup in any meaningful way.
4. A Larger variety of WvW themed tracks would be great to have. I’m sure a lot of people would enjoy Tracks that purely give Siege / Selectable (also untradeable) lv80 food Buffs. This could also be extended to Ascended armor as mentioned in other threads, although some balancing would be needed as not to make this an “Overpowered” method of obtaining the armor.
5. basically covered in previous questions, But I personally like the idea of Selectable Food / Ascended gear tracks.
Criticism welcome, but I doubt I will ever read any of it.

1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
I’m very happy with them for the most part. I would like to see a bit more wvw dedicated track. I guess an example would be exclusive wvw skins though I know this would include staff time to create and such. Good intern goal or project anet
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
I think it’s fair so far. The reward farmers or afkers are concerning. I could see “those” people sitting at spawn and sucking up que times.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
I believe it is well balanced currently.
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
I think they are pretty good. Would agree with cowofglory, some path towards ascended pieces would be nice. Even if it includes working towards 4 specific mats and combining in the mystic toilet to create one piece of gear, I’m down for it.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Ascended gear for the most part. I’ve run into roamers who have insane stats lately that grinded pve crafting/mats and I’m just not into grinding. I play the game for fun and wvw only. I’m just not into grinding, pve, crafting, etc. I just like wvw and roam for the most part.
1. I like them, but I do not like the lock out on tracks. I’m sure players would like to have freedom of choice.
2 and 3. Rates seem ok.
4. The dungeon skin rewards are kind of stale really.
5. Mistforged hero weapon skins, because they have not been obtainable for so long and would be a nice way to thank players for their tremendous patience and support. New weapons, and other gear, could be created for tournament rewards. Bring back all Black Lion skins and have a track that rewards scraps and a ticket for the final chest.

Hola,
1. I am currently on NA T2, and the tracks themselves seem fine, and the rewards granted are a sustainable source of income.
2. I don’t have a good answer for this, the participation itself seems fine, but I feel it is just something that happens that I am completely unaware of. It generally only takes me 15-30 minutes to “cap out” on participation in a squad of 15+. I cannot speak for roaming/havoc.
3. The rate for reward track seems good while running with a squad engaging in objective captures/holds, and fighting other squads. I cannot speak for roaming/havoc-ing.
4. The types of tracks are on level with spvp reward track (the same mostly). The Triumphant track differs for allowing superior siege drops, which is good for WvW. That track allows access to WvW specific armor (correct me if I am wrong. xD).
5. Maybe reward tracks to allow token gain or acquisition to HoT specific equipment (Durability Runes being a big one). Or tracks that reward progress towards ascended equipment, in a similar time gated method as Raids do with the Magnetite Shards. It is also paramount that there be a track for the Miniature War Quaggan on Guild Arrow Cart.
2. The reward participation seem to be at a good pace. Obviously I’m not paying any attention to my participation during the battles, but every time I hovered my mouse over the participation after doing something, it looked like it was where it should be.
3. The reward track itself does seem a bit slow to me. I’m saying it’s slow purely by comparing it to the PvP reward tracks. I think it’s slower because WvW tracks lack the potions that grant significant boosts to the rewards.
4. The types of rewards seem average to me. I’m happy that I will be able to unlock dungeon skins eventually now, since I almost never do dungeons. I’m sad that the Verdant Brink and Auric Basin reward tracks are not repeatable, meaning that I will eventually have to go back to those maps to grind out Airship Parts and Lumps of Aurillium for runes and sigils. Maybe I haven’t been paying enough attention to the rewards, but the reward tracks don’t seem to give me stuff that I find useful in WvW.
5. Relating to the last point, I think it’d be great if you made a few reward tracks that gave the HoT sigils and runes as rewards.
With all of that said, I’m absolutely loving the reward track system. The amount of time and effort I put into WvW now seem rewarding, allowing me to play GW2 for the gamemode that I love.
1. Fantastic! its really fun to get rewarded for doing something, and more rewards are always welcome! Love that you listen to your players and added this. Big plus.+
2. Rates are good, no need for any change here.
3. Same here, rates are good.
4. Tomb of knowledge are no use for me, would rather see XP boost or something.
5. Yes! WvW-food / XP boosters & Siege
Thanks again!
1.How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
Issues:
While they are headed in the right direction this creates a problem that needs to be looked into as it currently stands, the largest participation should scale according a few things based on size (a 40 man blob should not get the same percent as a small 5 man team capping a tower because its easier and encourages blobing to get rewards, we already see this in eotm), a roamer and havoc squad of 5 should be be able to hit the 550% cap just like a blob without being forced into a numbers game. Scouting, repairing, yak escorting while easy is still vital to the gamemode and needs to give rewards or nobody will bother defending anything, successful defends should also give greater rewards if your team is outnumbered.
Pros:
We are now able to generate wealth and achieve some sort of goal in WvW which is fantastic! Im averaging roughly 2g an hour from my track, salvaging, and gathering, so I am now able to cover my food costs much easier.
2.What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
I again would look at my issues with the track, it feels very based on what is happening in WvW, if youre primarily a early morning NA player like myself, there is very little chance for me to hit 100% in my 2 hour timeframe I have of playing simply because there isnt enough going on, or not enough people, rewards and population need to be tied to encourage diversity vs blobbing for an objective to get the most percentage possible.
3.How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
Currently it feels like I am not being fully rewarded enough for solo roaming and the percentage at which I earn feels slightly slower than the PvP tracks pending on timezone I am playing in (either early NA mornings, or before NA prime) there simply isnt enough going on to generate a decent amount of participation to hit that tick quick enough.
4.Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
Cant complain here, we now have an option to get skins, transmute stones, and other things we would of had to jump to other game modes to get.
5.Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Make a class specific reward track that should roughly take 1 week to complete assuming a 2-4 gameplay per day average player, consisting of food, stones, oils, at the lower end of the track then lead up to chests of exotic equipment then follow it by set of 6 superior runes we can choose (Account bound of course to prevent tp crashes) this will let us try out new builds without spending small fortunes on the tp. At the very end grant us a choice of either X Laurels, a static amount of gold (maybe 2-3g) or 1 ascended gear piece (account bound on acquire) of which we can pick our stats. Naturally this would compete with crafting and Fractals but the goal is too keep people in WvW as much as possible, by allowing us other means to gain gear you keep players in the gamemode.
Anet,
Can you add FoTM reward track for WvW… so WvW-ers who hate going FoTM can craft Fractal Capacitor (Infused).
Many thanks :P
2 things.
The reward tracks should include tracks that reward you with HoT stats/runes
The WvW reward tracks should be exclusive to WvW. EotM is rewarding enough, and is often manipulated so that the sides can karma train without fighting. By keeping these rewards out of EotM you will encourage more people to give WvW a try.

Feel free to post anything reward-track related in this thread!
1. Finally it’s here! Many thanks to the dev team for finally implementing them to wvw! It feels great getting rewarded for playing wvw however you want, whether that’s following a zerg, or capping a camp, or escorting a dolyak.
2. I’ve tested a few things such as escorting dolyaks from camps for participation (while also doing the guild missions), seems to reward more for longer escorts like north camp to garri rather than nw camp to fire keep, which is good. The 10 min period before participation starts to decay seems fair as well, for now, will have to wait and see what afk abuses come out of that.
3. The rate you earned points seemed a little slow compared to spvp, but will need more testing to see the difference. I haven’t done the math but I heard somewhere that it would take around 8 hrs to complete a track, which I’m sure can be done much faster in spvp. Also thanks to the devs for thinking of the rate in eotm, as I think it’s much easier to earn rewards in there already, it’s best to give a little more to wvw which has more sacrificial play for defense in there.
4. The tracks are straight copies from spvp, understandable as this is a beta testing of them, but it’s a good variety from dungeons to zones and even the wvw specific armor.
5. More specific wvw tracks would be nice in the future:
a. Festival tracks.
b. Wvw Tournament tracks.
c. Perhaps tracks for the wvw specific weapons that were offered at the tournaments for tickets.
d. Tracks for each wvw map that provide something unique in the end, and of course the desert borderlands would have to provide silky sand in theirs XD
e. Fractal tracks.
Also more wvw specific rewards in the tracks for stuff like siege blueprints and badges should be included if they haven’t already.
1)How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
Great to see this finally implemented, many of us have been asking for this for a long time, and it is great to see a progressive and chooseable reward system in place.
2)What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
I think the rate is fine, but this depends more on personal actions.
3)How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
I am not sure I like that this is based on being progressed by the scoring tick. I think it should be more fluid and progress whenever you do anything that contributes to the track. This way progress is not lost if someone has to leave and its before a scoring tick advances their bar. People should not be encouraged to just stick around waiting for the tick just to advance their bar, because it could cause issues especially if people are trying to get on the map to defend something.
4)Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
I think its a nice selection, similar to PvP, and we even have a unique one. So all good there and looking forward to future ones.
5)Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Maybe a new set of weapon skins to go along with the new armor set, kind of like what we had during seasons. Or maybe some kind of track that awards ascended gear like a backpack. Maybe a way to get HoT gear as well.

2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
-There needs to be a cap on the amount of participation you can gain from repairing within a certain time period. Maybe do not allow more than 90% of a gain from repairing. This is extremely important because repairing in many situations is harmful (repairing an objective that is being trebbed and draining the supply out of it instead of building siege to counter the treb).
Participation…
Think Anet can consider giving participation percentage to refreshing siege depending on how much time left before the siege despawn…

Hey thats a good point you bring up, have to make sure supply is not being wasted by someone because they want to farm points.

How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
I think the reward tracks are a smart way of getting constant rewards for activity into the game mode. The tracks currently reward more activity but at a certain point players can “coast” by doing relatively little and maintaining maximum rewards. Pacing wise I would make the ramp up in participation faster but also add in a constant drain even when you are not inactive. If you go inactive for 10 minutes this drain should be more substantial. This helps to encourage active play more so than in the current iteration.
Second, I would note that the scoring and population revamp are important to making this system truly dynamic. If, for example, the cap on participation scaled depending on your world’s current score (1st, 2nd, 3rd) then the loot dynamic would properly be one of competing for 1st place rewards. Also, at the end of the match a large amount of Reward Track progress based on the final score (again 1st, 2nd, 3rd) would make the loot system not just good for everyone but also give us something to fight over. “Make winning matter” is how I would sum up this game design premise.
What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
See above.
How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
See above.
Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have? // Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
I’d like to see the reward tracks include fewer tomes and instead focus on providing ascended and regular crafting materials as well as more WvW skins (think a WvW weapon skin track or a WvW backpack track). I’d also suggest adding in WvW armor recipes that require mist essences purchased for badges of honor — which could also drop from reward tracks (maybe make this the path for getting the upgraded Victorious armor?)
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
It seems purely positive, though I’m not personally all that excited by a few more greens/blues and tomes of knowledge. It might be too much to have Supply Traps and Disablers thrown in. The armor at the end is nice, perhaps, but I can’t say I care too much about it either.
In short, there’s a reward track but it doesn’t really feel rewarding yet. Also, I wish I could cash in my participation on leaving instead of waiting for a tick.
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
This part seems fine. I play largely solo—defending and roaming. I do think that participation should be awarded for killing enemy siege and such but I haven’t been checking closely so that might already be in place.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
Fairly slow, but that seems appropriate. I’d be willing to go slower if it meant the rewards were more than salvage-bait.
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
I don’t care about most of the stuff. That may be atypical, but I only use the track that awards silky sand (for guild stuff for wvw) and the new ‘wvw’ track. The latter I’m still trying out.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Anything with a more aggressive wvw focus would be nice.
1: I rather like them.
4: Fine, if a bit similar to the PvP ones.
5: One that rewards WvW Tournament Claim Tickets would be nice, that is unless you are planning to bring them back some other way in the near future (or if I just didn’t find it).
2+3: While the rate is reasonable, around half as fast as PvP but in addition to other loot, I’m just not fond of having to wait untill the “tick” to actually get the points.
I’d prefer just getting the points whenever it now gives “participation”.
The main downsides of the participation system (as far as I’ve understood it) to me seem to be:
If you have to leave less than 10 minutes before the tick you’re better off leaving the game running so you might at least get some of the “participation as actual points”
And you could probably get up to 550/“tick” and then just go do something else and just kill 1 guard or dolyak every 5 to 10 minutes to keep your “participation” at maximum.

I am not sure I like that this is based on being progressed by the scoring tick. I think it should be more fluid and progress whenever you do anything that contributes to the track. People should not be encouraged to just stick around waiting for the tick just to advance their bar, because it could cause issues especially if people are trying to get on the map to defend something.
+1 Awesome Idea, theres many times players cant stay a whole tick due to time constraints, or theres slow periods where after a big fight, people will jump off after a raid ends or winds down, so by slowing down the action were being hurt because there isnt that ongoing participation anymore which takes away from that progress we just made.
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
I like them.
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
It feels a bit slow, but might be an issue if its too fast.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
OK.
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
They are fine.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Fractal like Ascended gear. A way to get wvw only merchant contract for selling greens/blues.
It would also be good if there were more WvW specific rewards, like boxes of WvW supplies that have consumables and siege blueprints.
A repeatable track that gives WvW specific rewards would be great.
There should be a daily limit on how much track progress you can earn in EotM (aka WvW rank/track/karma farming) in the same way that PvP rank/track farming has a limit.
WvW boosters should boost track progress in the same way that PvP boosters do.
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
There should be reward tracks that offer ascended equipment progression gated behind WvW level ,Bronze, Silver, Gold, Mithril, ect… Another Idea is to pair certain WvW objectives with special reward tracks. Example: Yakslapper unlocks access to the Yakslapper reward track that provides access to special wvw weapon/armor skins, costumes, or blacklion claim tickets. WvW players like to show off their wares, and the effort they have put into the game mode. Right now being a Mithril footman does not feel too rewarding. I also think having a reward track for acquiring legendaries would be appreciated. Integrating the idea behind the pve track for crafting precursors could be reoriented for wvw tracks. Some hardcore WvW players may spend 3-8 hours a day playing WvW. This kind of commitment makes pveing less possible, so WvW needs to have similar rewards equivalent to pve. Furthermore, having exclusive WvW weapons and armor feels very rewarding and obtaining such accessories should be gated similar to some pve mechanics are gated. A diamond legend seems like they should receive a set of legendary armor or something because such a rank is worthy of epic reward and recognition. The reward systems scattered throughout the game are great and I think these same systems should be employed in wvw and allow a diversity of ways for receiving rewards.
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
The rate of participation gain is perfect; however, I think participation could be geared in a more specific way. For instance, when a tag is put up the tag should be able to choose what objectives it will be pursuing. Example: Havoc, Objective defender, Objective assaulter, Slayer. Choosing a specific purpose will reward more points for accomplishing certain tasks. Taking a camp while tagged Havoc will reward more participation. Being in a tower while a defense timer is up when tagged for Objective defender will reward more participation. Special reward tracks could also be implemented for specializing in a particular play style in wvw.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
I think the rate could be adjusted based on the idea I gave for #2. Three hours of taking camps is a long time, so the rate of earning points toward a reward track while tagged as Havoc could be greater than the current gain. However, based on the current system ten hours is too long for base stat exotic equipment. The current system would feel more comfortable if you gave the option of choosing exotic armor with any stat option for ten hours of play would feel more rewarding.
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
The reward track is a fantastic integration. I commented on this in #1 and #3. WvW specific tracks for attaining special weapons and armor would be very good. However, this would require a lot of work since creating armor sets is the hardest thing to do for developers. If the developers were going to do a new wvw weapon and armor set they should turn to the wvw community for concept art and hold a contest. This would be cool for the wvw community and would help with continuing to show interest in listening to the player base.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
1) Integration of precursor crafting progression from a wvw approach
2) Tracks unlocked based on WvW achievements
3) Tracks unlocked based on wxp rank
4) Tracks specific to wvw specialization
5) Track offering ascended equipment progression (trinkets, armor, weapons)
Honestly, If I spent ten hours in a high level fractal I would most likely acquire an ascended weapon or armor at some point, so spending ten hours in wvw should provide a similar reward. Perhaps, offering a wxp ability to unlock an ascended vendor where badges and proofs could be used as currency would be possible? Perhaps, certain achievements in wvw could also offer a choice of ascended weapon or armor box, much like fractal achievements, instead of the track idea. These are all just musings. Hopefully some of it will be useful for future development.
In general this is the least exciting change for WvW in this patch.
The Mist War button is overlapping the Zoom In button in the mini map. Good that is doesn’t take up much screen estate unless I hover mouse over it.
Flashing tooltips and large popup in middle for the screen every 15 mins… why not just quietly put the crap into inventory? This loot is not interesting.

- How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
- What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
- How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
- Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
- Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Feel free to post anything reward-track related in this thread!
1) I like it, they add some reward to the mix.
2) The participation is fine, good the participation is maxed at 130~ in eotm and higher in eb/borders to prevent people from farming reward tracks in eotm.
3) The max participation couldv’e been a notch higher but then again i dont play wvw to farm reward track nor do I want people to farm them. increasing it might be problematic but adding bonus reward points by the amount of ppt you have could work, only if you have max 550 to start with. Or add bones reward points every 14~ ppt timer starting from 20 points going up 50 bonus points every point tick, 50 → 100 → 150 etc then start over when you get to 250.
4) Id personally replace the tomes of knowledge with something, we already ge loads of them via the wvw rankup chests, side note: change the tome of knowledge from the wvw rank up chest aswell
5) I would like to see one track awarding badges of honor or something, and maybe buffs or food of choice.
There is something else i would like to bring up though. The level tomes, they are really nice and i am not complaining, but here is the thing, i get like a lot of them in just a few hours and i understand they are there to make up for those that leveling in wvw and don’t get xp anymore, but i would not mind if you did like in s-pvp and add more transmutation charges so this is equal, like in s-PvP.
Wvw players are also interested in changing wardrobe, and well we kind of never got any of those for free, whilst every other game mode do.
1) Having reward tracks has been incredible. It feels legitimately rewarding to play WvW for the first time in… well forever. Great change
2) Gaining participation seems pretty well balanced. A bit easy to get maybe, but the sources from which they actually come are smart. I would say building siege or repairing should help, but it’d be hard to prevent people from going AFK
3) However, actually getting rewards feels really, really slow. Assuming max participation, it’ll take just over 9 hours to get any final reward, and compared to PvP’s tracks, this is super slow. If we could cut that in half (allow 200% participation) or even more, it would be great.
4) Really nice rewards, especially because dedicated WvW’ers never had a shot at dungeon armors/weapons/tokens in general.
5)
a) Map specific rewards (Dry Top, Silverwastes, Auric Basin) would be amazing. Best runes in game right now are Durability, and they’re only available with Aurillium, so many players just go there to zerg the meta every now and then. Would be nice to make some progress while we play what we really enjoy. Though I understand it’s not good to pull people away from the new content, I think a lot of us would appreciate it.
b) If there was a reward track that was simply gold-focused, it might help people feel more rewarded, especially if they simply want gold. None of the current tracks help much toward legendary crafting, and style is important in WvW
The rate of advancement in a WvW reward track seems rather slow compared to the PvP equivalents. I spent about 1 hour in the borderlands doing the “normal” stuff like flipping camps, taking towers, capturing guard positions, etc, but after all of that I had only advanced the track 1/40th of the way. By comparison, I can usually get around 4/40th of a PvP track in under 15 minutes just by doing PvP dailies and earning additional points via kills, captures, etc. So unless there is a good reason for why the WvW rate is intentionally slower by about 16x vs PvP rate, the WvW rate seems like it should be improved.
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
I have a surprising answer to it: I dislike the rewards. It sounds surprising since we should be happy to get something. However, I dont play WvW for rewards. I play WvW for the fun, the server and for the fights. Rewards attract players who only look for rewards. Yes, WvW used to be a good way to lose gold. That should be reimbursed somehow.
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
The answer here will not be too surprising after reading my first lines: I dont care much. 550 per 15 min. (normally I got 550) means 1 box from the reward track per 15 min. Thats a quite steady pace.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
Since the tick is assigned every 15 min., it is exactly right. I work for the tick, I get my reward with the tick. It is as in rl. When a painter painted a room, I pay him. Not every second!
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
I think most of it was copied from PvP. Hence, it is old-fashioned and not impressive at all. If you want to grant some rewards, then PvP-reward track is a good starting point but just this.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Short answer: WvW-related rewards. Instead of some green boots, how about some catapult blue prints? Other option: give me gold straight (and my inventory will like it).
omgYAY! is how i feel about reward tracks. too many good choices to chose from... i thought about going with the triumphant armor at first, but then i changed my mind when i realized i could do HoT map reward tracks and get aurillium, ley crystals, and other such things without spending a bunch of time in maps i don’t really like all that much.
going through a reward track feels maybe a tiny bit slow, but not so much so that it bothers me. i do a lot of wvw, so i’ll get thru the tracks. looking forward to when they settle things down and introduce reward potions ala PvP reward potions. one thing i find funny is just like in pvp tracks, you get tomes at a regular basis in wvw tracks. i have 12 characters, all at 80th level.. the three newest additions were leveled to 80 via tomes alone, and i still have enough in my bank to level yet another, and still no end in sight... and i have more spirit shards than i know what to do with. will you, at some point, be adding other uses for these tomes? using them to level my wvwxp would be nice... XD... and i agree with Leaa... where’s my transmutation charges?? i’ve run out, i need MOAR! Fashion Wars 2. i need to look sharp, yo!
Never thought I would say this…That’s a lot of loot!! .Had to stop mid battle so many times to empty my inventory.Even had to bank some gear to make room.
My only thoughts so far:
I’m getting a lot of tome of knowledge, which would be great if I didn’t already have almost 2 stacks of tomes. I really don’t need more.
It also feels a bit weird to only reward us once every 15 minutes. If I cap something and get into fights and whatnot to up my participation to 100% just after the tick and then nothing happens for the next 15 minutes, my participation will degenerate to the extent that the game doesn’t register me having done anything for that 15 minute interval. When a map is dead, it’s dead. Nothing I can do to keep my participation up like that…
I also feel like despite 2 nights of fairly active WvW, I’m only about 50% of the way through the track progress. If I were to be PvPing, I would have finished the track and then some in those 2 nights of PvP.
1. Overall i feel that reward tracks are a great addition to WvW to not only bring a little more incentive for people to come into WvW but for us players who have spent thousands of hours in it to feel more rewarded.
2. The rate of which we gain participation seems very fast in some areas such as fighting and slower in other areas such as firing siege at walls. I like that there is diversity in which you gain participation but it could be a little more balanced.
3. I feel as though the rate of which we earn reward tracks are a little slow but seeing as we don’t have WvW reward track potions rewards yet this could be the reason why it seems more slower than PvP ones.
4. I am not interested in most of the reward tracks because there main focus is on PvE rewards so i’m literally just going for the one which will give me the most gold.
5. We need more reward tracks which contain WvW only items such as Superior siege, Top tier food, Disables/Traps, WvW XP potions (kegs/thimbles), Ascended Gear, WvW Unique weapon skins etc. There is a lot which can be added to create real unique tracks just for WvW and i feel a lot of us not only want this but need it.
I say everything is right on very good reward hope u add WvW ascended and legendary armor/backpiece later

Participation generation is great. Especially so considering dead map activities like escorting yaks can still be used to maintain your participation, while not providing too much on their own. I think this system is very good as it stands.
I think the rate at which you get reward track credit is too low, particularly in regards to prior comments saying that “the rates should be similar to spvp”. They’re not; 550 in 15 minutes is too low, considering you could complete multiple games in that time, and just having two losses will give you more than WvW’s max progress. I would tentatively suggest 800 as a reasonable participation cap; this puts the reward track rate at roughly 1.5 rewards every tick. It also means it will take longer to get your participation up to that cap, and increasing that initial surge of activity will probably be good.
The 10 minute participation tickdown timer is very comfortable and allows you to take breaks, especially considering the ‘real’ participation timer is something in the field of half an hour (going from 550 to 0).
The range of reward tracks is fine, but not amazing. I am very happy that a new set of armor was added for this system though.
A feature I would like would be a ‘cash out’ system to immediately convert your Participation into Reward Track Points so that when you finish in WvW you can turn Participation into something useful. It doesn’t need to be a high rate and it shouldn’t be a rate which actively incentivizes you to spend your Participation in the middle of a play session.
Its a bit slow.

Feel free to post anything reward-track related in this thread!
1. They are long overdue.
2. It seems OK although if its interrelated with the next question its too slow.
3. The rate is too slow in comparison to spvp.
4. They are fine although I wish you’d get rid of the story mode dungeon requirement to have access to all dungeon reward tracks. I did all the story modes back at the beginning of the game but because it was before reward tracks were in existence I don’t have credit.
5. A wvw legendary backpack
I say everything is right on very good reward hope u add WvW ascended and legendary armor/backpiece later
Also forgot this! If Anet needs a design idea for a potentially nice looking legendary BP, make a ghostly white cape out of mists with cool flowy motion animations.

3. The rate is too slow in comparison to spvp.
I read it now more often. If I take the amount of time invested, I tend to agree. In a ranked match, I will get at least 500 points (I think that was the amount in case of a loss) per match. 1 match lasts (with queue) roughly 10 min. If I consider a win/loss rate of 50%, I would achieve 1000 points every 10 min. In WvW, that are maximum of 550 points per 15 min. So lets say roughly half of PvP. Now comes the big BUT. PvP is (for me) much more stressful. I have to react all the time, look everywhere. Commanding in WvW is similarly stressful. However, running behind a commander means 1 battle (stress) and then 5 min. running around (no-stress). In other words, if I take the amount of stress/energy invested, I tend to consider the WvW pace as equivalent to PvP.
Everything is great, except that the reward tracks are a copy paste of the pvp one’s.
It’s just that WvW should have special WvW rewards, something that players will want to hop into wvw and will want to get.
For example, ascended gear/weapons.
Most WvW core players have to do fractals to get them. Why not make them rewards at the end of specific tracks.
Cool looking wvw skin rewards are also a high motivator.
For me everything about it is great. All i want to see now is a reward track with siege build site finisher :P
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
Overall i having fun with the new feature for reward track for WvW altough its because this new feature that many PvE kitten begin to join wvw and making so much mess for zerging in big number
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
I think the % you earn to reach +550 is way too easy
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
About the rate i think its fine for me
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
I think u guys should seperate reward tracks in wvw and pve/pvp i mean not every wvw dude will waste many hours on dungeon and stuff to unlock the reward tracks so its wise to make different reward tracka like triumphant
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
I really like to see new reward tracks that u guys create for wvw
You guys do realise that there is a WvW specific reward track in there.
1.How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
Good, I like them!
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
Perfectly fine, get credit for anything that gives wxp(except warg and those pve events) and credit for escorting yaks. Not that it would be huge but possibly lower participation for relatively large zergs.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
Fine by me, people say spvp is faster but you don’t get loot every single time you kill a player in spvp like you do wvw so that balances it out more.
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
WvW players have access to all the pve tracks now, even the magus falls stuff so that’s great. I can now spend more time in WvW but still slowly build up more of the new tokens for new recipes. The triumphant armor isn’t too bad but I like how it gives a little bit of siege halfway through!
Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
I do feel there could be a “Lord Flame Ram” track that instead of 2 loot boxes per reward, could give 2 random sieges or 1 loot box and 1 random siege. Another option could be a specific WvW weapon track. Could also make fun tracks like spvp has already done with minis of WvW npcs like Siegerazer or the desert borderland lords.
Last but not least instead of having a Siege track, if a merchant would sell us siege for tomes of knowledge we’d probably not need one.
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
I love it.
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
It’s fair.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
This needs to be adjusted as it feels REALLY slow at its current rate.
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
It’s fine to me. I haven’t looked at all the tracks but if there aren’t some already, some exclusive WvW reward tracks would be great.
Edit: Yep, there’s one in there as morrolan.9608 pointed out. More tracks like this would be awesome.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Fractals of the Mists reward track, though this would probably anger a lot of players. Maybe it could reward just the non-gold weapon skins and only the exotic fractal capacitor backpieces; just some suggestions.

You guys do realise that there is a WvW specific reward track in there.
Yes but all I’ve seen in that one so far is the 3 boxes of superior siege, not a lot of other wvw specific items.
1. How do you feel overall about reward tracks?
Finally something to reward players for participating in WvW.
2. What are your thoughts on the rate at which you gain participation?
It’s somewhat fast, but considering they can fall quickly too, it’s fine.
EDIT: It’s erratic, however. Roamers get it up quickly, while defenders in a siege don’t get it at all (provided both sides are tossing stones at each other over the walls.) It motivates random people to try and cap, though, which is good.
3. How do you feel about the rate you earn reward track points?
Seems a bit too slow, as in uneventful, bland.
EDIT: I can’t tell if it’s as fast as in PvP, WvW has a different dynamic. But the time between the ticks feels “empty”, so perhaps it should have ticks more often (once per 1/3 time at 1/3 weight.)
4. Overall, what are your impressions about the types of reward tracks we have?
WvW should have more of its own unique reward tracks (majority actually) not the PvP tracks copypasta (except for the armor) as it is now.
5. Are there any other reward tracks you would really like to see?
Definitely materials for pure WvW guilds to be able to level their guilds up to actually be of any use in WvW.
EDIT: Let’s see…
-Random limited finisher track with some exclusive permanent one at the end.
-Scribe mats, guild upgrade mats, guild banners, guild/superior siege repeatable track (can be more than one track.)
-WvW lords / NPCs (guards, yaks) minis.
-WvW food (trays) / mats / recipes / boosters.
-Weapon / armor / backpack (even exclusive legendaries.)
