Didnt you hear? You arent just paying for the new siege.
You are paying for the new skills, masteries, specialisations, the new map, the potential living story updates.
Surely that is worth the £35 price tag of an expansion which some have already finished the storyline and complaining it’s way too short for an expansion?
yeah i was shocked too i bought hot so i didnt know until someone posted on forums. its meh no one uses it anyways and it’s not terribly effective at least from what ive seen and someone else can just use it.
The new specilisations don’t really seem WvW viable in a practicle sense for guild raids so i’m not really concerned, i don’t play PvE so the new maps mean nothing to me and i don’t really care about living story/lore.
I’ve always played the competetive parts of games.
20 pound is still too much for what i would be getting out of the game so i’ll wait untill it drops to 10 pounds before i’m tempted. Oh and i’d remove that link if i were you and replace it with “any good rkey site” before you get a warning.

I don’t see how that is p2w. p2w is saying the game is free, and you MUST purchase items in order to really advance. gw2 has never, and will never be that way. Saying that is so, is an insult to their company, as they have CLEARLY stated that will NEVER be their intention

Except now the game is free and most of the new specs are a lot stronger than the base class. HoT also brought new weapons and armor stat combos that I’m pretty sure you can’t get unless you pay them for the expansion.

The new elite specs are very WvW viable and some border on OP. Chronomancer is crazy good in a zerg, roaming or dueling. Heralds in zergs are pretty fantastic as well. Reapers… ouch.
They don’t replace the vanilla lines but don’t discount the game because of the elite specs. Most are fun, powerful or both.

I most often see p2w used to explain a you pay for an advantage. As in the money you pay makes it easier for you to win. Pay to Win. Not you must pay to advance.
Id say being able to use siege items others cant use certainly is an advantage. How big of one? I have no idea. im not sure ive seen anyone use a generator yet. But everyones server is different.
