Omega golems have no place in wvw
They were suppose to help less populates server, and they do just the opposite.
they are needed to get rid of the overbuffed ACs which are needed to get rid of the oversized blobs which are needed to get rid of enemies ppt in this coverage game.

Im thinking antitank mines like the stealth trap and supply traps. You step on it in a golem and boom. And boom to everyone around you.

Bonus: Using the fire spin on those 50 seems to kill a lot of them while protecting your lord Multiply that by three and you get a nice enemy souffle!

Omega golems were supposed to be a significant investment so that players don’t use them in bulk. When siege went tradeable the price of omegas dropped to where players will spam them with impunity. The result is 8 golem rushes that flip your T3 fortified keep before your server knows what’s going on. The ball is only in ANET’s court to fix this. I have some ideas for this:
1. Golem disabler trap
Cost 10 supply and deploy like other traps do. Golem disabler trap will pop a siege disabler when a golem crosses it and trigger a signal flare on the map. Golem trap will trigger other golem traps within 1500 units of it.
Golem trap will provide advanced warning of a golem attack on a structure where it is placed and also buy time for the defending server to mount a response. To prevent trolling with these traps any trap within 1500 units of a triggered golem trap will also go off.
2. Automated EMP turret (looks like any asuran turret)
Cost: 50 supply: permanent structure upgrade
Automated EMP turret will fire on golems in range and do significant damage to them, but otherwise does nothing. Rounds fired by the EMP turret can penetrate golem shields.
The automated EMP turret provides an active defense for an upgraded structure which must be defeated by player attacks before bringing golems up, once again providing a chance for the defending server to respond to the golem attack.
If your server can respond to the golem attack and then still loses then the enemy’s victory is well earned. I want the chance for a server to respond to a golem attack.
Golems have there place in WvW. Some groups use the different others.

I see what you did wrong there, being a karma train person yourself you are the opposite of the lower tier servers that do see the golems as a problem. How would you even know what problems lower tier servers have.
The problem as I see it is this; when you are outnumbered say 3:1 or more on a map and the outnumbering server then builds 2, 4, 5, 6 omega golems (don’t have an issue with alphas) to speed cap a map.
So what are the issues here …
(1) outnumbered
(2) number of omega golem build sites
Possible solutions …
(1) Omegas can’t use portals
(2) Omegas can’t use wp
(3) Omegas require more supply to build – say 300
(4) Reduce range on skill 1 to say 900 or less
(5) Omega build sites can only be placed when [outnumbered] applies (although I can see ways to get around this)
(6) Reduce siege expiry on omegas to 15min, same as rams
(7) Remove the speed buff on omegas when breaching a gate
(8) Remove the ability of movement speed buffs from traveler/speed runes etc
(9) Disablers have the same duration on omegas as they do on other siege
(10) Stealth has no effect on omegas
So there are 10 ways to minimise the effect of omegas, without necessarily removing them from WvW altogether. And this took like 10min to come up with and all or some would be simple to implement.
Which do you think are reasonable ?

I see what you did wrong there, being a karma train person yourself you are the opposite of the lower tier servers that do see the golems as a problem. How would you even know what problems lower tier servers have.
Not entirely certain why you chose to make inflammatory accusations, simply because someone disagrees with you. I would have chosen to use reasonable arguments, and try to support them with facts or practical situations based on in game experience, but to each their own I guess.
Your correct, I do not suffer the issues of the lowest population servers. Which makes me curios as to why siege, its uses, and the concept behind it, should be changed, based on the least populated servers?
It doesn’t strike me as particularly rational to change the game, based on the smallest minority of players.

Making the diferences between servers with diferent population even bigger and making any defence tactics useless because all the siege you have in the keep becomes useless. Only middle stairs arrocarts and inner trebs to drain the gates remain useful until they breach the gate.
Sieging structures with money, absolutely killing the smaller servers during difficult matchups because nobody is able to hold anything if a permablob of 50 players and 5 omega golems are just running in circles.

They did the same thing to arrowcarts (damage has been buffed ~100% since release). That event is still ongoing.
