Recently we have a serious problem on RoS with guilds intentionally claiming objectives so guild with active buffs can’t claim it. They refuse to unclaim even after many attempts by alot of people.

My suggestion: Every day at 0.00 all objectives are declaimed. This to help protect against troll claiming. Perhaps others have some suggestions to solve this problem too.

P.S. One german guild has been doing it for 2 weeks already with our hills.

"Troll Claims" I think they are called. One good suggestion I’ve seen about it, is to automatically "De-Claim" once you have no running upgrades of any sort etc.

This has been suggested (for years), and would solve the problem:

If you have more/better upgrades than whoever claimed the tower/camp, then yours overwrites theirs.

There definitely needs to be a fix for this. A lot of those cases are new players not knowing what they’re doing. But I know quite a few are trololo-ing. But also, say you claim a tower in the am while you have +5, then your server holds it so long your guild’s +5 runs out later at night.

Another suggestion to add to what joneirikb added would be, if you don’t have +5, you can’t claim. Or how about when someone logs into wvw for the first time, they have to watch a couple minute un-skipable video on how wvw is primarily played. I think that might also help players be a bit more comfortable entering the best game mode in GW2.

I thought that there was an answer to this already, where the guild with the most numbers at the time of the cap has a 3 minute window where they are the only ones who can claim? No?

They can’t even change wvw achievements to make them easier and in some cases possible, I doubt they will do anything to fix this either.

If they rush at start of reset to keep and claim it we can’t do anything about it. Also sometimes you need to claim a camp as you dont want to use keep supplies. Your keep claim is removed and someone else can claim without +5.

I agree its alot of people who simply do not realise this. However we have several people running around doing it intentionally.
Troll report button perhaps?

Two solutions I think…..
1) If you don’t have a buff running then a timer starts and you declaim at zero.
OR
2) To claim you must have money in your guild bank and a percentage of all upgrades (25% or 50% maybe) ordered for that site are charged to the guild bank so that the person ordering doesn’t pay it all.

There are a lot of troll claimers on my server too. Our work around has been for the core wvw players to use multiple guilds to keep control of key objectives and coordinate switching claims. Still, they some times get us and its rly stupid seeing that bird heraldry on our keep for days.

We have even talked to the player with this bird heraldry but he says he only speaks french. So we got a bi lingual french english speaker to try and explain the issue but suddenly he doesnt speak french anymore.

I think making it so if there are no buffs running on a current claim it should be reclaimable by another guild who does have buffs running. That would solve the problem of people having to wake up at 4 am to pop buffs and people not doing so at all.

The moment you have 0 buffs (of any sort) auto de-claim.

Could probably still make a vitality buff and claim, but it would certainly cut down on the amount of troll-claims.

Another option, let each place be claimable by multiple guilds, they bonuses can stack, and either find a way to show multiple claims (like different logos on different banners), or just make the one with the most buffs running show.

PS: My only gripe with the first one, is that I can no longer go steal North Camp on enemies BL, claim it as a challenge to them :p love doing that.
