go , i find it hilarious that players out in wvw engage in combat and then when theings look sour they turn tail and run for their lives , i will let them run cause i don’t have nikes like everyone else does since i play a necro but i do enjoy it when they run off go get healed up and come back and run away again , i wonder how humiliating it must be for people to run from a fight that they can’t finish .

so do you have the same problem with people running away from you also ?

Nike warriors and stealth classes running away kittenes me off to no end though.

I’m one of these people that run away…..only so they think I’m actually gone, and I can backstab/stomp them.

WvW is about fighting dirty. If you don’t want people to run away, catch em.

The only reason most people run from fights is because all the grief they get for dying. Trolly stomps, /laugh, party joins and whispers full of trash talk, etc.

Me personally i’m more of a roaming dueler as opposed to a roamer (mainly cause i’m the only one left in my guild that plays and i’m always solo) so when I run it’s usually because the other server suddenly had 10 allies show up or because i’m trying to lure a player away from his/her zerg.

Resetting a fight is a valid tactic and the cornerstone of some builds.

Why shouldn’t a highly mobile power build take advantage of an enemies inability to move quickly? Why should a warrior stand there and take a condition pounding from a slow necro abusing the current condi-bunker meta?

Why shouldn’t a highly mobile power build take advantage of an enemies inability to move quickly? Why should a warrior stand there and take a condition pounding from a slow necro abusing the current condi-bunker meta?

In the current meta, that is about all CnD thieves have left. I stopped playing my CnD when it was clear that the only effective thieves are centered around condi or picking off weak/weakened players.

Said it before; The problem isn’t people escaping, it’s that you’re letting them escape. If you’re a Necro, and you don’t fear people for no reason, you should have a fear ready for when they try to escape.
I hate when people run, too. I do not agree that it’s a “valid strategy” like some people claim, but I do agree that WvW is unfair and people are always going to run and reset. Don’t blame them for your own mistakes. If they try to escape, you should stop them. If you can’t, don’t chase them half way across the map, consider it a win and leave before they either come back full health or come back with friends.

With most runners I have met if you emote /laugh at them while they are running their ego gets the best of them and they will return……and die! especially those big burly warriors!

I roam to get better at fighting (and be the best, arouuuund) if they run, that just means I won that fight. if they come back, I generally just get better at fighting them (I fought a R80 warrior a while back about 5 times, and lost miserably the first 3 times, the 4th time was basically a tie when we got ran over by my zerg, and the 5th fight I won)

I don’t really care about the loot bags (would join a zerg if that were the case)

I don’t care about ppt (I would be taking camps)

I don’t really care about stacks (my build does fine without them)

amusingly, when most people run, they could have probably beat me

I just bask in the glory of winning if/when they run

small edit: I guess the only thing that annoys me are thieves, as their ICD’s seem much much shorter than mine, so they can come back when all my utilities are on cooldown and beat me then emote spam. oh well though, that’s just the personality of most people who play thieves :P (note: most)

Druid main, 80 on all, Legendary ranked, Eternal and all that jazz (I go by Feyris in game)
