One solution to the Zerg problem!
i know what you mean, a small +incoming damage debuff if you’re stacking… i threw this idea while back, but i don’t ANET is going to listen to this…
Archeage = Farmville with PK
this could be similar to disease condition from GW1, I think GW1 players who did alot of FA, JQ or AB know how annoying it was :P

Exactly my point.
If you catch a cold, the last place your friends want to be is near you (in what regards health matters only, ofc )

If they indeed want to solve zerging issues, they should look from all angles. I don’t say this is the best solution, but it’s one worth exploring.
Here’s the thing, you don’t need to punish zerging, you could just stop incentivizing it. People will always zerg, some for large scale fights, some for the safety in numbers.
ideally you would raise the aoe cap, this is not possible due to technical limitations in game.
so what to do? Well there has been so many suggestions already that would work the problem is Anet is sticking firm to the " we don’t want people to be upset when other people show up." I agree with this in PvE but find it does not work in WvW no matter how casual you want it to be it is still pvp and competitive by nature so hopefully when discussions between devs and players start up with the new development discussions that anet is doing people wil show that we can deal with not everyone getting a cookie if its decided that a camp only has so many cookies and to many people showed up.
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
Zerging is easiest way to get WXP, if you give for example 1000 wxp for capping a tower, that will mean that if you have 5 man getting a tower = 200 wxp a man, if a zerg of 50 man takes it it means only 20 wxp a man.
Also a way is to upscale the events. This will discourage zerging.

If you want to beat the Zerg, you need to deny their power droning and force cheap units instead. Apply pressure asap to force zerglings out, which means wasted larvae. Snipe important tech structures – if you manage to take down their Pool and Lair/Hive somewhere in the midgame, that’s great.
Keep in mind that the Zerg is the reactive ‘play by ear’ race, meaning they should adapt to your tech choices and counter them; and they can do it, fast and effective. If you turn the roles, though, and poke them into teching for something or even wait for them to commit into a specific tech tree, you should be fine countering it with superior trades during engagements.
If that fails, you either need to blow up the infested planet or just type GG.
things they can do:
create a siege engine that fire projectiles that bounce in a small area, the more it bounce the more damage it dealt.
make a siege engine that do more damage if more target is on its target area.
as mentioned above just nerf the w exp reward (im tired of people with high ranks that cant even fight back properly when alone)
i hate zerging, i think its stupid and doesn’t offer a positive play experience (sure for most of you its fun, but if you are outnumbered and under siege its not pleasant at all)
Seriously stop. There is no zerg problem. People zerg if they want to do it. They enjoy large scale fights. If you are not one of them, then roam.

Although i understand what you are saying, actually there is a zerg problem. The AoE limit, the lack of few ppl objectives, the WXp as said, the zerg friendly system it all incentive zerging. Obviously it’s optional, you can zerg if you want…
The easiest solution is to actually have an in game grouping system that allows us to create custom size forces. There is simply no other in game grouping option over 5 people that doesn’t attract a zerg.
Private/public commander pins would create more medium size forces on the battlefield instead of one massive zerg flocking to a shiny blue pin.
