Only 1% of Game can Play WvWvW :(
Your numbers are off, even with the 500 man marker which we arn’t certain is valid any more as I’m fairly certain they’ve increased WvW capacity since early beta when those numbers were introduced.
They said 500 per map. There’s 4 maps. So 1000 × 42 = 84,000. Again though I doubt these numbers are accurate. And there’s 2 million units sold but not 2 million concurrent players at any one time. :P
If your seeing long queues then move to a server on a lower end of the bracket. Majority of them have 0 queue time for most maps.

It is indeed 500 per map (for all 3 servers combined, so ~167 for each). And yes, not everyone plays at the same time, and some don’t do WvW at all, and there’s a bunh of other factors.
So it’s not ~2%, perhaps it’s 10% or even 15, or 20% of people that are online and want to play WvW actually can….. that’s still ABYSMAL.
If only 167*4 people per server could play PvE or Structured PvP, everyone would be in an uproar. Nobody could ever say it is acceptable. So why is it ok in WvW? Why is WvW a lesser aspect of the game?

Transfer to Kaineng if you want no queues.

At the risk of stating the obvious, if cannot get into WvW play, it’s because you chose a very high population server. The bottom tier servers have zero queue times.
Numerous threads complaining about this seems silly when it’s so easy to rectify.
“Did you see that? Tell me you saw that!”
This is a decision Anet made back in the the BWEs that is having repercussions since release.
1) They decided to reduce the number of servers before release thus increasing the server populations.
2) For WvW to be playable without bad lag and rubberbanding they can’t raise the WvW pop caps by much more than what it is now.
3) They make month achievements require 100 WvW kills. Do the math if the pop is around 39000 how long will it take all of them to get their monthly kills? Which has nothing to do with winning or losing in WvW.
To remedy the problem they would need to increase the number of servers to reduce the server pops. But, now the cat is out of the bag. Now it is just waiting to see if WvW dies to lack of interest and frustration or whatever Anet comes up with someway to force people to change servers to lower server pops. Either will end up being distasteful to a lot of players. But that’s where we are and it is what it is.
51 servers
2 000 000 copies selled
39 000 per server AVERAGE
166×4 RVR slots per server = 664 slots
so 1.7% of total server population can access to rvr (if 100% of customers are connected, in reality, its more close to 10/20%
for my server (VS) one of the most populated in the world, with one of the most RVR population EU/world
i’m guessing for a … 15-20% of guys who tag on RVR access to, then the other 80-85% are in queue.
(just my opinion)
Anet, thank you so far to create ONLY 4 french servers, for a 100k/250K (selfestimated ) games selled in france.

to be fair it was a good decision, if you look at the old republic they launched with a lot of servers and that caused some serious population issues with people being to spread out
its better to start off with fewer servers and add as needed
No queues over here on Devona’s Rest.

I’m having trouble seeing the complaint. It be one thing if ALL servers had ridiculous queues. But that’s not the case at all… There are numerous servers that have zero queue times. If queue time is such a big issue on your server then transfer to another. Transfers are free.
This is something that’s honestly going to unavoidable due to the way WvW is set up. WvW takes place in singular zones, there isn’t an overflow. So they can’t shard people off to separate instances. There’s a finite number of participants that can be introduced before the server reaches capacity. Push it further and the overall response quality is going to suffer. There’s only so much you can do on Hardware.. The only other option would be to open MORE servers. But again there isn’t any need to. There are several servers already that have instant queues.
Heck even on Blackgate we’re a High pop server and #5 in the rankings. At most I see a 15 Min queue for our borderland maps.
