Yes… it’s complete madness that +150 to every single stat, to every single player on an entire server could exist. Almost forgot… to their npcs as well.
At first, I really didn’t think they were that big of a deal, reason being, my server isn’t very good at getting the jump on the orbs, so we’re always losing. I honestly assumed it was cuz we were just bad on my server. That being said… This week, at the beginning, all 3 sides had an orb. Skill wise, we were owning both the other servers at the same time, literally. Not gonna say the servers, not here to call people out, but after a little while of us destroying both them at the same time on equal ground… One server decides to ‘ninja’ both the other orbs at the same time (lets just say it didn’t look legit in any way, lol). As soon as their server got the +150 bonus to all stats… Game changed, and these scrubs turned around, and have owned the whole map all week.
The insanity, has literally gotten tot he point where most don’t even log on. I actually have barely logged on in the past 2 weeks due to the orbs. Last week, we owned all 3 orbs, and it was such a slaughter of us owning the map, it wasn’t even fun anymore. Then this week…. they’re honestly so established, we can’t hold a single supply for more than 2 minutes, let alone do anything else.
Now… I know what people are gonna come on here and say, so I’m gonna answer it before they’re even bothered. gonna say… “Well people shouldn’t give up, and that wouldn’t be as big an issue.” well… guess what? people r gonna give up weather anyone likes it or not, and they r, and have. ya can’t change that, so the reason making them log off has to change. Not to mention…. it’s boring as all hell once any server gets all 3 orbs.
Anyway… now for a solution that’ll make everyone happy.
Make it so the orbs only affect the borderland that it’s kept in. Why? because 50 stats to all players in a server is still a big buff, and worth fighting for. Also… it makes it so if you own 2, you don’t just automatically win everything. Your server actually needs to tactically consider holding all areas to win (the way it should be) On top of all that, it will make the Eternal Battlegrounds a place worth fighting over, if you own no orbs, EB would now be the tactical place to attack. A server can still win without EB, so it’s not necessary, yet it creates challenge. Not to mention… there’s allot of us that only enjoy fighting on equal ground (and don’t reply with sPvP, there’s no siege, randomness and fun there, so it’s not the same, most my guild’s quit the game already cuz the orbs r so OP its lame as hell).
So, all n all, that makes the people who need an advantage happy, still maintains the importance of orbs attack/defense. But without making it absolute insanity, and game breakingly no fun.
