Orb replacement
Although I have no issue with the suggestions I also think it should give a point tick as well.
I wouldnt be too concerned about the focus of homeworlds being dominated by that server, because the garrison will become the focal point of those maps and would lead to alot more 2v1 fights in the garrison for the orb.
I have no issue with the garrison being a little more beefy
I also hink this is the easiest solution, although it does take out a dynamic of an ever changing focal point on the map.
Garrison will become the main focus and the 2 accompanied towers instead of a shift from the middle of the map to the east or the south.
The big downside is it would make bay and east just tickers on the map as they have no potential to host the orb
I would just simply like to see a war on hacking, but apparently it is easier to “fix” the hacking issue by removing the orbs and probably a faster way of doing it as well.
Who knows they may fix the hacking and the orbs come back in the same capacity
It’s limited what they can work with within the current framework of the zones.
Now if they expanded on the zones and made them bigger – it would open up for more possibilities such as larger keeps or ‘orb specific’ keeps (akin to relics from DAoC); other types of supply camps and what not.
Yeah it is a shame about the hacking. Although snowballing was a little bit of a problem (shame, as I agree the orb dynamic was pretty fun).
As for the east and west keeps, maybe we can think of something for them. My trouble with those keeps if my idea went through is as you say, they are just point tickers and a strategic location, although to nowhere near the extent of SM castle or the Garrisons.
