Hi, just a recommendation on how to reincorporate orbs back into WvW,

My first thoughts on this would be making a totally separate map call it what you want, but the overall mechanics of this map are capture the orb.

The layout of the map is 3 keeps surround an even circular map, players portal down into “no mans land”. The orb spawns in the center of the map at which point the 3 teams must fight each other to reach the orb and return it back to their portal for a point, upon the orb making it to the portal it instantly re spawns back at the centre.

Once a server has captured the orb x amount of times they are rewarded a random boon for their server that has a set time limit say 30mins – 1 hour.

Also a way to keep players in this map would be every time a server captures the orb they are also rewarded with a set number of badges ( i recommend 1) as long as they are contributing in “no mans land”.

i just thought this would be a fun interesting way to reincorporate orbs back into wvw, with out over powering them and involving players who may not have groups to go into wvw with to help their server.

Orbs should be something to be fought over and desired but not give advantage to the the server that is already strong. How to do that?

I suggest make them scale to the owners power. And the only two metrics of power I can think of are population or score.

For example if the last place server (or outmanned server whichever Anet thinks is best) magages to grab the orb, it will give them some advantage. But if they first place server has an orb, it will not give them an advantage. The reason for the first place server to go after the orbs would be to keep it out of the hands of the lower ranking servers.

Ah… Perfect solution, then… Whichever team holds the orb should be allowed to type in a new population cap for that BL.
