I’m mostly a noob when it comes to WvW (only rank 31), but just wanted to throw this out there and get some thoughts:

Why not put the current bloodlust buff on the outmanned buff instead? I know some people mentioned that might inflict trolling on the person who zones in and has it removed, but technically you’re “even” at that point. Wouldn’t that make things more “even” for servers that clearly don’t have the player base to keep up?

And why not change the bloodlust buff to a magic find/karma buff? Especially since a lot of the threads in here mention that WvW doesn’t quite have the rewards as regular PvE. I’ll be honest, I REALLY enjoy the ruins, have had some very fun/unique fights there and think they should stay.

Thoughts?

This has been brought up multiple times Stark, unfortunately the Dev’s (and they have officially responded but you can find it) feel like a buff like this would cause players to harass other players to leave X borderland in order to attain the outmanned buff. I personally don’t see this happening as often as the dev’s seem to fear, but I guess I may just have thicker skin than other players and wouldn’t pay any attention to a player who was trying to harass me to leave.

HoD is frequently outmanned and I would love to have some sort of buff other than not having to pay for repairs after getting stomped by a zerg, but the dev’s said it won’t happen until they can figure out some sort of buff that does not incite harassment, I.E. not gonna happen.

The reason for bloodust not being just MF/GF/WXP/ect is because those stats don’t do anything for WvW. With the stomping for points and stat increase, it make the bloodlust nodes very important for your server to get. Not only do you want them but you don’t want your enemys to have them. This forces your server to fight for them or be at a huge disadvantage. If the buff was just MF/GF/ect most guilds or players wouldn’t waste time capping them.

The reason stat boosts aren’t on the out manned buff is because anet feels it will divide players. If a guild zones into a map and they are out manned, they would have a good advantage in fights but as soon as more people zone in they think players will get mad that they lost the buff.

I just don’t see players getting mad they lost the buff? If they have the buff, it makes things more even. If they have equal players, then things are technically even. What if the buff dynamically scaled the closer it got to even teams?

Stark, so I agree, I don’t really think people would get mad if they lost the out manned buff (if it gave stats) I mean some people will but I doubt it would be the majority. Thing is anet is looking at it like people “might” get mad and harass players over it. So they won’t do it.

Honestly, I highly doubt we’ll see and changes to bloodlust any time soon. Regardless if you agree with it or not, its here to stay so adapt. If its just your guild or if you can get your server on the same page but either adapt to the current meta or die/quit. I know it sounds like a big middle finger but theres really nothing that can be done about it now. With seasons coming up, nothing will be changed in WvW till after the first season so unless bloodlust is changed this week were stuck with it for a minimum of 2 months.
