Hi fellow WvWers

I just wanted to practice my english… errr.. no, sorry I wanted to bring a few ideas to help outmanned forces (probably some have been discussed in the past, but I wanted to refresh the topic because I think it is important). I will not discuss in this thread the current implementation of the outmanned buff for the outmanned forces.

In my opinion, when one of the three forces is outmanned, the gameplay is not as exciting (for any of the three) and distorts the WvW results (night/morning/afternoon cappings depending on servers).

Possible solutions to buff the outmanned force and make harder to the other forces to rush the whole map (EB or a BD):

-Make the structures stronger(for example: doors and walls with more HP)
- Automatically shoot siege weapons (not very frequent, but at least simulating that at least the NPC guards in the structures are using them). This will mean that sieges with outmanned buff should have a longer de-spawn time
-More guard NPCs and stronger, specially the lords of the structures
- A special Mercenary force that would help the outmanned server. I am not referring about 4/5 ogres (quaggans!), I am referring to a zerg/blob (yes, I said blob) of mercenaries (probably 20-30-40) that randomly would attack enemies structures and defend. This should be a challenge for the enemies and they would take advantage of fights and loot

Any ideas?

Outmanned players should yield no wxp when killed.

That should encourage the 2 larger teams to fight each other more instead.

I have two comments on that:

- Outmanned players not yielding wxp when killed will not prevent the other forces to rush your structures (so you will not have anything in the map, 0 points!)
- Your proposal will not work when two of the servers are outmanned

They should make the towers and keeps in your corners of each BL worth more points than equivalent structures on home borderlands. This would mean holding bay on a home borderland is worth less points than holding bay on an enemy borderland. Servers that split their forces to multiple maps, instead of all stacking on EB and home borderlands, will score more points than servers which try to full cap their own map. This might help to encourage players to play on a bunch of different maps making it less likely that you are outmanned in the first place.

Change break out so that it only needs five people. Getting 10 people in that tiny ring is a nightmare, even with a commander sitting there and 20 people on the map. Alter break out so that it also places incomplete defensive siege inside the tower on the second delivery. One of the current problems with break out is that once you take the tower, it’s usually not long before you lose it again and sieging it up is costly, time consuming and very high risk. Don’t just help people claim the tower, help them keep it.

It wouldn’t hurt to make the world experience bonus greater with outmanned, it’s not like people are going to karma train through a map when they have a buff so it wouldn’t be easily exploited (the less karma trains we have, the better).

I think helping outmanned is about getting people onto the map, not just making the buff more desirable to play with. It’s better to not have the buff rather than have it but be happy to play with it.

I can’t figure out why other servers should have more players in maps.
