Wouldn’t that give a illusion of that timing being not outnumbered when looking at the points? Such that people will have this impression that if the timezone is able to hold their stuffs during outnumbered, it is ok to have them in outnumbered in the next pairing since they can do it.
I am concern about how it will show up in the system and how it will affect anet judgement on the link pairing.

On the one hand good change, although fighting a team with outnumbered usually means… there’s very little of them on the map anyways.
On the other hand some people might get it into their heads of just avoid fights and they’re denying the other teams points, when it probably isn’t really going to be much points to make a difference in the match anyways.
P.S I don’t think they break it down and take into consideration of the outnumbered periods for links anyways, they most likely just look at total wvw popluation for a server.

If the effect is you don’t see the +2 when killing an opponent, this is a very big tell and will allow an enemy to go after cap points. If you know your enemy is outnumbered, why wouldn’t you go for a keep?
This will evolve WvW tactics… have teams deployed on all maps to see where you do and do not get +2s, then go for a hard to cap objective on any map.
Isn’t the points only from PPK? That give the outnumbered server a way to deal with attacks without the risk of just feeding points to the large threat. But let’s be honest: If there is only 10 of you in the map and a blob of 40 taking structures, you will not be holding much stuff…

People just use spies for that anyway, at least in T1 NA.
CD held off both YB and SBI with a ton of Sup ACs while outmanned in EBG EU the other day… 4 times in a row. So it’s certainly possible to fend off blobs with the buff in place.

Yeah one can hold dumb blobs with siege placed… I did it several times back in Eredon Terrace. But in general you are just going to lose everything else while holding a structure or two.

this is still nothing. they need to make some sort of an actual outnumbered system.
have local outnumbered buff so that group of 10 vs group of 50+ doesnt give any points even if there are other players elsewhere on the map, also, none of these type of kills should count towards KDR, not even one least bit.
in addition they need to make another system where structures do similar as well. for example, a T3 structure should only give T3 PPT value but only if there is an enemy force on the map that is actually strong enough to take it. otherwise default it to T1 values.
so this is just a drop in an ocean of what needs to be adjusted on this front.
As mentioned, it is nothing about players’ perspective, it is more of perspective from developers. The thing is, developer use data to determine the pairing, data to determine the balance. The thing is, I am concern about how this will affect that data and how it will affect their judgement unless they have a hidden data with the PPK enabled which I don’t think there is. It is important to note that dev once mentioned they pair it to what they think is competitive, and not what we think is competitive. If 30 can hold 50, maybe they will think that is competitive.

I am happy to see that when you are outnumbered in a BL the enemy gets no points from killing your and your people. At least when their blob rolls over you and they dance on your head you can lay there and smile knowing they get nothing from it other than causing you to invoke your wp mastery
