Guild Wars 2

On my realm (Isle of Janthir) I’ve started WvW and loved the concept, But can’t even play due to being outnumbered 6 to 1. We are #2 out of 3 and the third isn’t far behind. Stormbluff Isle (#1) controls 76% of eternal Battlegrounds and 62% of WvW. the only reason they aren’t 80% or more is cause the 2 realms get champs and towers and forges sometimes. I understand the fact that its cause people aren’t logging into WvW often on our realm but who wants to when we can’t get past our starting point without a group of 20 people to escort us… I like the idea of being able to roam around with 5-8 people and have fun which doesn’t even work out cause SBI has 20 more than us taking us out in our own base with all our people in it with siege weapons and everything. They pour in in a couple dozen and take everything out, While they are taking our forge, tower, and traveling to other bases. I believe that Arena should limit the amount in and have a que for it to be fair and an actual challenge, not just one realm roaming around uncontested. Thats just EOTM, in eternal Bgs its our only hope and we still have trouble. Its not like we lose all the time, in eternal we can get 50% but them EOTM is taken by most of them and them they swarm into eternal and have 80% until we regroup. considering we have to wait for them not to be somewhere to do anything makes WvW boring. Also I’m not gonna switch to SBI just to face roll through PvP, thats for Warcraft. Anyone have any ideas on what we can do to help our realm (Isle of Janthir) and also our fellow losing realm (Crystal Desert). It would be much appreciated.

WvW have two kind of matches:

1 – The one where you are severely outnumbered and roflstomped.

2 – The one where you severely outnumber your enemy and roflstomp them.

You guys vastly outnumber us during the early morning and day, we have a massive prime time presence (6:00 to 11:00 eastern).

You were a head by 5k today before SBI swept the map.

Think how the players on CD feel? I salute them for not giving up, but the above poster is right.

WvW is coverage vs coverage, the games designs forced this huge flaw to the surface.

The best time to enjoy WvW is Friday night, when most servers can rally players onto each map.

Pretty much this. Our Coverage is stronger this week then SBIs but their NA makes up massively for the loss due to CD having no body.

I wouldnt worry too much either OP. Today is Patch Day and all servers have really Heavy PvE populations more so then WvW. Just keep up the good fight in NA. We have a few guilds considering us post-seasons in the NA slot to make sure stuff like this doesnt happen as often

Being outnumbered or outnumbering the opposition,is equally boring and frustrating.
Having easy wins makes you weaker by getting complacent.

That’s why I like Deso so much.We have always bit at the ankles of the big boys,and stood our ground.And even won some battles we had no chance of winning.The struggle has always been real and rewarding.

Mobility, infiltration, variation in maneuver these are the way you create squirters to bypass spawn campers. Use the d****d side doors. Leave map for 15 minutes and leave them to loose interest. Rally the whole map lead them on a goose chase and have a 5-10 man force work back cap.

OP another huge factor is burnout: lots of WvW regulars has stepped away from the Mists (and the game itself for that matter). I’m a huge WvW fan but the lack of meaningful updates and the fact that I finished the tourney meta weeks ago has put damper on my enthusiasm for the game. I usually only log in three times a week instead of every day and even then I stick around just long enough to finish my dailies..

OP, why are you mentioning EOTM… it’s a PVE karma farming map. Those enemies there are not just SBI and CD, they just make up part of the many who share the same colors in this particular week.

IoJ didn’t faced the outnumbered buff nowhere as much as ET did…

Hahaha well this was entertaining and thanks for the input I just hope something happens cause they idea of WvW is amazing and I’d love to do more on equal ground not get stomped or be stomped. EOTM is mainly what I’m talking about and yes the Times you mentioned are the Times I’m mainly on, I’d like it to be a challenge majority of the time (all the time would never happen due to zerg parties) And it not be impossible or faceroll till satisfied.

Also EB is probably the equal part until EOTM groups get bored.

I mentioned ETOM case it’s an interesting map I’d actually like to,explore but instead can’t make it far even with commanders leading,us.

Yeep never thought I would see an IoJ complain about being outnumbered. As its been stated WvW is a coverage V coverage thing. I know when I play both CD and IoJ will be putting the boot into SbI (where I am from) to the point where it was 4SbI V 30CD V 30IoJ. Quite honestly I find it amusing when 4 or 5 of us can defend a keep or tower and get all the bags we want.

Looking at the map as we speak IoJ jave everything except CDs towers. So as I tell people on SbI “get use to the Outnumbered Buff”.

What we need is a CDI on WvW population imbalance so that we can get the best ideas from players and devs on how to address the problem.

Oh wait …. (snorts his Diet Coke laughing)

IoJ ticking 600, thanks to CD no show and virtually all of SBI community having work till 6:00 pm.

It was a fun week, despite people trying to get SBI to purposely lose.
