Overpowering: New Debuff
It won’t change zergs at all.
Could do away with karma trains if the game didn’t keep giving us bigger and bigger gold sinks constantly.
Everything is a champ train now. They had to buff the rewards to get people back in Fractals. How kittened up is that?
It won’t change zergs at all.
If the punishment is high enough for just zerging then i think it could work. Last night the map i was on had like 5-10 defenders we faced a server that had a BLOB that split into like 3 20+ groups and STILL didnt have outmanned….
Wouldn’t change a thing at all for Tier1-Tier3 servers. It would only change things for servers that karma train and don’t competitively play WvW (for fights OR for PPT).

Make a 10% extra incoming damage/10% less outgoing damage de-buff for players that are within 10.000 units of 50-100 other friendly players..end of story.

Zerging = large scale battles, something arenanet said wvw would be, this wont help much tbh

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
The WvW game mode was meant primarily for large scale battles. They will not punish people for playing the game mode the way it was intended to be played. EoTM should give you a reprieve if you like small group combat when it is released.
Also, please stop making new threads on the same subject, we have heard it all before, and Anet has already stated they will do nothing that goes against the large scale warfare of WvW.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
The issue is what is the definition of large versus too large?
I do think ANET is very supportive of WvW and generally the whole “many player” concept. But at some point the zerg sizes just were not planned for in terms of things like AE cap, skill scaling in large groups, skill scarcity, some skills with no limitations, etc.
Even the queues for the battlefields have proven to be strained on overly large servers.
Typically, I would say that you would stretch the maps and make them larger giving yourself more real estate for different and new objectives that you can’t just leave alone. The more things you need to manage simultaneously, the more you split groups into different missions. You also “somewhat” reduce technology strain.
Make maps 50% larger to start. Just stretch.
More value for holding runes other than just the buffs.
Add more points to manage (e.g. villages which you can pillage or protect etc).
Break up the zerg sizes by having more objectives and space.
So i was thinking, Outmanned, terrible “Buff” but what if the servers that out number you are given the same “buff” but that gives:
-33% XP
-20% Magic Find
-33% World XP
Double cost of armor deathAlso thought about things like lower Karma and such as well. Could this be a change that would stop the servers from just throwing HUGE zergs onto maps if they know they are going to get Less XP, worse Magic Find, Less Karma and such?
Horrible idea. You don’t want to punish people for playing. You want to give an incentive to get more people to play. In other words, there needs to be better buffs for outmanned.
ANET would never go for your idea.

Can you explain the difference between punishing big numbers and rewarding small numbers?
This has the exact same effect as adding an extra 20% MF to the existing Outmanned Buff, but when you phrase it like that suddenly it isn’t a “punishment”.
It comes to the same thing, the smaller group has the advantage (in terms of this type of “incentive” anyway).
Or, you could regard the Outmanned Buff as “punishing people for playing” because when more people play, you lose it.
As to the suggestion: it won’t change anything. People don’t zerg in WvW for loot, they zerg because it’s easy-mode. I dislike blobs, but even I will occasionally tag along because I can’t be bothered to put the effort into something more difficult. Nothing to do with rewards, just the ability to put brain on standby.

Well they clearly aren’t doing enough to try and get people to play when you have like 10 people against 50+ groups that can split up and take the WHOLE map in like 10 minutes…
