Server – Status – Transfer cost.
BG, TC – Full
JQ, YB, FA, DB – Very High 1800 gems
Mag, SoS, SBI – High 1000 gems
T4 host DH, NSP, HoD – Medium 500 gems
All linked servers now back to Medium.

Get your transfers to ET while they’re still just $6.25! That’s 6 or 7 weeks of 0-effort top-place finishes! Don’t miss your spot on the bandwagon!
In EU only SFR and Riverside are full. The rest are now open. I don’t expect mass transfers, because new server linking will once again change the situation, but at least people can now move to servers where their friends are playing.
I am curious about the queues in NA side?
Here in EU, Desolation & Vabbi, we usually have queue just to one map in prime time and that queue isn’t that long. We have been rank #1 already for many weeks, so I would have expected even more bandwagoning, but it didn’t happen.

Is it possible to tranfer to the “secondary” servers?
Is it possible to tranfer to the “secondary” servers?
You can join any non-full server and then you’ll participate in the current linked matchup. There are only 4 current Full servers: Blackgate, Tarnished Coast, Seafarer’s Rest, and Riverside.
You can join any other server directly. In order to play alongside Blackgate, Tarnished Coast you would need to join their linked server (Eredon Terrace or Kaineng, repsectively). This does not apply to Riverside or Seafarer’s Rest — as they have no link partner.

pass.
I’m thankful but, also feeling pessimistic. We’ll get 5 people transferred over to JQ and a Dev will scream and lock us again. So you folks better come quick before they notice…
Let’s see,
YB lost a bunch of commanders and is imploding.
DB is a bunch of fairweathers who will quit when they start getting throttled in T1
FA is T3
I guess that leaves JQ as the sensible choice for NA guilds looking to supplement a powerful SEA server and take on the BG / TC monsters.
Or you can always transfer to my server IOJ!
FA is T3
Not really. Both Mag and FA have their glicko rating rising and falling depending upon if they roll the T2 or T3 match. That makes neither server solid T2 nor solid T3.
Very interesting, an indicator that the population has continued to decline or anet manually making a change?
Okay great servers are open! But question still remains why not just merge servers…..?
Actual deletion incoming or relinking soon, we’ll see. Either way, thanks for opening up the servers that weren’t full.
$$$$$ for Anet.
It is about 160g to xfer to a medium. If a player runs in a BG zerg, they can easily crank that back relatively quickly. Why spend the cash?

kitten the gold gem transfer cost has really jumped up in the past few months. It was right around 100g the last time I moved accounts around.

The motive behind server linking is that it allows ANet to create similar-population matchups by creating linked groups of similar servers.
That would allow numerically-competitive matches despite player movement and without forcibly moving players from one server to another.
I think that idea has some flaws, but the motives are ones I agree with.
Very interesting, an indicator that the population has continued to decline or anet manually making a change?
I’d say its declining still. I moved back to my old server which is currently in T3 and to me it looks like the population of T4-T5 Pre-HoT yet it is 2 servers linked now. I left it a few days after HoT came out, didn’t play much after I left and now that I’m back I still don’t feel like playing.

Less guilds than a year ago, few commanders during prime time, no opposition against the night cap, the game mode is in limbo.

Well, nobody said logic applies to that situation especially when it comes to impulsive behavior. For example, when the shared inventory slots came out. I bought3… and then I bought 2, even though there’s a better discount for buying 5. Support graciously helped me out on my stupidity. More prudent folk bought them when they inevitably went on sale and the gold—-> gems conversion was better because there’s generally a worse conversion when an item initially shows up. But I wanted it immediately!
And this is applicable especially from zerglings that feel the need to find a place to zerg harder.* If they could come up with your train of thought, there wouldn’t be issues. But this is the same game where there are people that would rather spend hours complaining about issues that they could have solved in the time they used to complain. Or maybe people suck at hitting 1. I dunno.
(*Specify not ALL, to avoid triggers. Thank you.)

I always thought the motive was to simply avoid dissolving servers……
If they opened up the primary servers, its a prelude to relinking for sure. Want to get with a randomized server? Stay where you are. Want to join the server you are already playing as? First come first serve!
People that miss it and get relinked against their will are gonna be kittened, lol.
I guess they put the population cap back the pre-link’s size which is why all server are opened and many servers dropped to medium. Wow, HOD was high before all this and look how the locking drop HOD from high to medium.
But the problem is, even “Very High” server are opened, wouldn’t that encourage bandwagon?

I see Anet is now trying to go from 12 WvW servers down to 6. They take a few steps in the right direction then drop a nuke to mess up any progress achieved.
Yeah I thought their goal was to get all servers as even as possible so the linking rotation could be more flexible. This transfer opening might just create more stacking.

fairweather = someone that only comes out when server is winning, which is most of DB, they do quit every time their NA gets rolled by Mag, i think twice? If FA’s NA actually tried a push against DB I am sure DB would quit again
What server experiences good roaming fights???
It would have been great if we had been informed about incoming population changes. After we had planned to move servers for quite some time, we transferred our entire WvW raid roster (25 players) on Sunday evening from Elona Reach to Underworld in order to have access to Far Shiverpeaks WvW, which was still rated as full, and, thus, was locked. We each spent 1k Gems to move to a server, which was downranked in terms of population from high to mid (500 gems difference) not even 12h later. Furthermore, there are no reassurances that we’ll be partnered with FSP in the near future. And the most annoying part is, that FSP is now open to transfer as a high-populated server, which would have cost us the exact same amount of gems we had to spent to transfer to Underworld, when we could have transferred to FSP directly the day after.
As I contacted the support completely disillusioned (no pun intended) but hoping for a gesture of goodwill asking to move us to FSP (which was ofc denied) they just told me to raise awareness about this issue in the forums.

What time of day do you play and are you eu or na?
I’d love to know how many people will end up transferring from servers like Kaineng, Anvil Rock, and Eredon Terrace to their partnered servers Yak’s Bend, Blackgate, and Tarnished Coast.
I shouldn’t really be surprised if it’s an astronomical figure.

Same thing happened to me.. I moved back to my old server for 1000 gems, found out the time zones I play are roamer numbers vs zergs and not even a few days later the server is medium and more servers have opened up. There goes all my gold and gems to move to a server that was high status but is really low status. You got me anet. You really did get me. You got me to see that wvw is continuing on the same path it has been for a long time and that is downhill. I’m done for a while.. I’ll see you all when they actually improve this game mode.
Servers opening up is a good thing for me. Think I will look into transferring one of my accounts into a T3-T4-ish host server, so I don’t have to worry about getting tossed around from host server to host server every month or so on one of my accounts.
Any comments out there on how NSP or FA is doing?

I’d be interested to see this too, but at least from a Kaineng perspective a mass exodus to a T1 host looks unlikely to me. Those guilds/players who wanted to be in T1 left us a long time ago, or created alts. I haven’t heard from any player who wants to permanently be stuck in T1; quite the opposite. (No offense TC! You’ve been a lovely host and KN’s lucky to have you!)
However maybe you’d see transfers of the players who jumped aboard KN/AR/ET after the linking started?
My guild’s stance is, we’re sticking around – if Kaineng is destined to be bounced around as a permanent ‘guest’, our plan is to gather as many like-minded folks and make our server experience as fun as possible wherever we may land. We’ll bring irreverent joy to whoever we visit, but you might want to hide your valuables.

I would say its probably a bit of both. Its obvious on one side that servers like BG and TC don’t need a single person or guild more. However, servers like Maguuma could definitely use more despite them previously being “full”.
As for declining numbers, its true as well. If you played right when server linking went live, the numbers were far bigger. It was a surge of players wanting to come back and play or test the new system. Now that they’ve seen there is no real new content other than their ABL back, they have moved on again. I do think we are in a better spot with linking as a whole though because numbers are definitely up compared to pre-linking days but we are still in need of actual content instead of just upgrades. Hopefully the issues around the desert borderlands can be addressed so it can be put back into the game in some fashion.
As for the person asking about NA queues. They are pretty bad on kitten. I’ve heard them as high as 240 for reset night and about 50+ during the week. As far as on average though, reset night on JQ is about 30-50 on two maps while the other two are maybe 10-15. After about an hour only two of the maps will be queued and the others won’t have commanders or the zergs will be quite small.

I’d say unless you are bringing a small group with you, go Mag and stick to the bl’s. My T4 account can’t find any worthwhile fights during NA prime. Most people are running around in 6-10 man groups.
My Mag account still finds decent fights with groups of 3 or less and Mag is right on the T2-T3 border so the match ups don’t get stale quite as quickly.

Yes to battle the kittenters alliance and how long has it been since DB has been in a tier with TC……………

Haven’t played on either server, but am familiar with their progression over the last month or so. Being hosted on SoS in T3, we end up either playing FA or Mag in T3 and they usually win by a comfortable margin, but when either moves up to T2, the other T2 servers defeat them and they are sent back down to T3…so either of them are like a yo-yo right now.
For NSP in T4, my understanding is that none of the T4 servers have been able to jump up into T3, as there is about a 200 point glicko gap between T3 and T4, so the matchup in T4 has been the same over the last month or so…some say that’s boring, but at this point with tier positions settling more (at least until they mix up the pairings), all tiers look to be in the same boat lately with just about the same matchups, with the exception of FA and Mag flip-flopping.

Luvpie why are you so salty about DB?? And you’re dreaming mate….
Could it be that we left JQ and went to DB not to fairweather but to get away from JQ and actually have some fun?
We were raiding as usual last week and we didn’t win….just as we have raided every week on DB since we left JQ winning or losing we don’t care.

YB lost OnS and LUN to TC. Other than that no, no other guilds or commanders. Also no implosion on YB, just completely outnumbered. Of course any server would be completely outnumbered in T1 atm, so…..

Indeed. The only reasonable move would be AR to YB, since nobody’s allowed into BG or TC.
Definitely nobody is moving to BG any time soon, though. Even on TC we were outnumbered-buffed for hours last night during NA prime. I really miss T2.

Also YB didn’t “lose a bunch of commanders” . A few key people went to play Overwatch for a while and have a bit of a vacation. They’re back now.
YB core is largely the same people it was three years ago. No-one’s going anywhere. The server may go to T2 but it’ll be the same people logging in and doing the hours there as is it was when we were in T4. Nothing much changes on YB, ever.
Nothing much changes on YB, ever.
The Permanent Portable Provisioner and ability to get Superior AC blueprints & Superior Treb blueprints for Proofs of Heroics have definitely improved the YakLife.
But other than that, you’re right. It’s the same people now as when we were bumping along as the 9th or 10th ranked server and will be for the forseeable future. When ANet turns off the servers we’ll probably all be there too, building one last Superior AC, chewing out somebody for deploying wal-mart siege, escorting a supply yak, or sieging up north camp.

It’s interesting to me that JQ queues that high. Last reset YB had a smallish queue on EB, a queue of 4 on home BL, and no queue at all on the other BLs. This was right around 9:30-ish PM. Probably why we aren’t locked atm.
