Pack roamers chasing Solo roamers [Solved]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
They usually don’t win much, so you should allow them their feeling of achieving something from time to time.

Real roamer would kill 8 players alone.

Its fun when you waypoint on them right when they almost catch up to you.

Nah, i’m from Gunnars Hold, we get alot of roamers here, still kill them with people i’m in a party with, why? because their on my home bl, i don’t care if they don’t have fun. Also OP i don’t know why you try to belittle the defending of ones home bl, just because you don’t do it or enjoy it doesn’t mean that others don’t love it, and play wvw daily for home bl. I don’t care if we 100v1, if you on home bl red=dead.
May our BL break all foes. Fear our babou!

^ This . Really guys, this is some form of open world pvp and if you believe in some bizarre honour codex pls go to a custom arena and invite everybody in who you want to duell against. In WvW the only rule is, red is dead, period.
Of course it´s nothing worth to brag about if you kill a solo guy with 5 people, no doubt about that, but that doesn´t mean that he does not have to die.
What roamer runs from a 1v2?
You know repair costs are free right? kittening cowboy up and jump in.

Don’t think it has a huge amount to do with “honour” as such, it is more about fun, if I 5v1 some guy what is the point, there is no fun gameplay, I guess there is a “point” for PvE PPT heroes who think they are protecting a camp or whatever, but for an actual PvPer it is worthless, I’d rather 4 of us stand back and 1 of us do a 1v1, then at least one of us will get a bit of fun.

If enemy wanna fight some 1 vs 1 fights it’s very fun kill him 15 vs 1. It’s even more fun when he whine about it.

This is the best, juke the enemy into thinking you’re alone, soon as he’s in combat rest of you appear and bam, instant qq. this honour code some people seem tohave for their wvw game play is utterly ridiculous lol.

I don’t think they whine.. Its more that they laugh at how many bad players it just took to kill them.. I get jumped all the time. I laugh at how many it takes at times. Every single time I get jumped I usually find someone that jumped me and guess what? They are easy kills when they are alone..
On a side note though. Anyone complaining about getting jumped probably shouldn’t be out there alone to begin with or should go to PVP where its more balanced. Its part of this game mode.. Its not a fair game mode

I don’t get chased so much as I get tired of scouting out a player or two to engage only to realize 3 – zerg are just around the corner.
Fortunately we’ve been against Ehmery Bay for a few weeks now and although they don’t have as many roamers as they used to have they still have some good ones. So roaming has been okay compared to how it was against Dragonbrand.
On that note however, I did get chased down a few days ago… From north west tower, up through north camp, to the harathi camp and nearly to north east tower… By 5 members from the same guild. I’ve been chased around before but that went on for so long I was starting to wonder what these guys must be talking about while doing it.
I don’t know why others roam but for myself it’s seeking excitement and challenge. So those who roam in groups just make me go “ew” because I don’t get any satisfaction out of ganking people. Maybe others do? I’m not sure… But running solos over or smaller groups in 5seconds is just so boring to me. Long zerg fights that last 10, 20 even 30 minutes are the best kind. The same way 1v1 or 1v2’s that last minutes on end are the best kind. I’ll just never understand the people who are too afraid to look for a challenge and are always holding hands with friends/their guild yet insist on trying to engage in “fights.”
Also on the note of “honor code” I’m not sure how many roamers have that but I’d say dignity more so than honor. I won’t interrupt a 1v1 regardless of where it’s happening and regardless of whether it’s a duel or not because again, I want excitement not faceroll. Let those two duke it out and I’ll try to find my own fights. I don’t expect fair 1v1’s I expect there to be more than one person on an entire map that can survive by themselves. If I get zerged or blind sided oh well. It’s frustrating of course but it very rarely bothers me. It’s when guilds or people grouped kill you and do it repeatedly that I start to get angry.
At this point I try to “roam” within the vicinity of other people. It’s sad that I need a safety net but with how few people venture out by themselves it seems necessary now. I’ve been in my own one person guild for ages and only once in a blue moon do I party with other roamers. Besides that, if anyone is around me it’s either because I put myself near them or they happened to roll through.

Protip: log out if you’re solo roaming and get swarmed by thirsty nerds. It’s much quicker to log out and back into WvW if you have an ssd than it is to wait for them to stomp you.

If I’m roaming with a group we are usually looking for similar sized groups or we are poking zergs and picking off their fat kids that can’t run fast. If a solo roamer attacks us he’ll get run over, if he comes up and bows he’ll get a 1v1.

“Pro” tip lol
I think i know what is causing this mentality of pack roamers chasing half the map to kill a solo roamer.
I don’t experience this much in T1, but since coming to T2, it became very evident.
Pack roamers (2 or more players) will do their best to chase down an enemy solo roamer. sometimes going half the map just to do it.
Why? where is the challenge to pounce on an enemy with more numbers? is it fun?
I always justified it as “they are defending their homeworld. doesn’t matter if i am alone and they have 8. to them, i need to die”.
i finally figured it out after experiencing it myself.
it was the scarcity of meeting enemy roamers in T2 that resulted in this bloodlust the moment they see an enemy. they just want some action.
you could roam for 3-4 hours and maybe meet one or two evenly numbered encounters. and that is considered a lucky day.
so in the end, to these packs, any enemy is fair game. any enemy means action, it means some fun. even if it is not challenging.
Tier 2 is not the place to be for roaming for these reasons… It’s blobs only, those blobs barely fight eachother unless it’s 3:1 odds…
There’s also a reason why most people in T2 have WxP boosters, it’s a karma train tier.
….. And Elementalist.
If you are being hunted by packs on their border then you should expect them to hunt you high and low.
If you are being hunted by packs on your own border, then they are either desperate for some action or they have something against you.
